Alberto Aguilera Valadez, known professionally as Juan Gabriel, was a Mexican singer, songwriter and actor. Colloquially nicknamed Juanga and El Divo de Juárez, Juan Gabriel was known for his flamboyant style, which broke barriers within the Latin music industry. Widely regarded as one of the best and most prolific Mexican composers and singers of all time, he has often been referred to as a pop icon.

He died in Cuernavaca, Morelos at the age of 90.
Con un mismo corazón is the 13th studio album by Mexican pop singer Ana Gabriel. It was released on 1997. This material was produced by herself. Nine out of the 12 tracks were written by Gabriel herself, and these songs follow her typical way of lyrics about heartbreak and abandonment already established by composers like José Alfredo Jiménez. In fact, Gabriel covered one of Jimenez's songs with verve. The darkly toned "Me Equivoqué Contigo" shows the singer meeting the erroneous man at the altar of the church. It has the duet with the thunderous-voiced Vicente Fernández. Her delightfully raspy voice has never found a better companion. It was nominated for Regional/Mexican Album of the Year at the 10th Lo Nuestro Awards.

Alongside his concert career he has recorded in various countries, alone and with other musicians. He lives in Istanbul and works as a guitar teacher at Yildiz University. The Guitarra morisca or Mandora medieval is a plucked string instrument. It is a lute that has a bulging belly and a sickle-shaped headstock. Part of that characterization comes from a c. 1330 poem, Libro de buen amor by Juan Ruiz, arcipestre de Hita, which described the "Moorish gittern" as "corpulent". The use of the adjective morisca tacked to guitarra may have been to differentiate it from the commonly seen Latin European variety, when the morisca was seen on a limited basis during the 14th century.
Juan Habichuela was a Spanish flamenco guitarist who began his artistic life as a dancer, and later learned guitar from his father and from a guitarist from Granada known as Ovejilla. He accompanied some of the most famous singers of the time such as Manolo Caracol, Juan Valderrama, Fosforito, and Enrique Morente. He was nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Flamenco Album in 2000. Habichuela received the Latin Grammy Trustees Award in 2012 for "significant contributions, other than performance, to the field of recording during their careers".

"Así Fue" is a song written and produced by Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel and performed by Spanish singer Isabel Pantoja. It was released in 1988 as the second single from her studio album Desde Andalucía. The song tells of the singer dealing with her ex-lover after she has a new fiancé. It reached number two on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in the United States and was the fifth best-performing Latin single of 1989 in the country. Nine years later, Juan Gabriel performed a live cover version of the song at the Palacio de Bellas Artes which was recorded and released as a live album titled Celebrando 25 Años de Juan Gabriel: En Concierto en el Palacio de Bellas Artes (1998).
