A Past Unknown was an American Christian metal band from Cedar Falls, Iowa. They were known for playing a metalcore style with a more melodic metalcore sound. The band started making music in 2009, and their members at the time were lead vocalist, Grant Lilly, guitarists, Nick Powell and Trevor Rozendaal, bassist, Dirk Wiese, and drummer, Adam Aalderks. When Aalderks left the band, Jack Van Gent became the drummer. The band released their first studio album, To Those Perishing, in 2011 with Red Cord Records. Their second studio album, Vainglory, was released by Red Cord Records, in 2012. They disbanded in the middle of 2013.

Background

A Past Unknown was based in Cedar Falls, Iowa. [1] [2] [3] Their members, at its inception, were lead vocalist, Grant Lilly, guitarists, Nick Powell and Trevor Rozendaal, bassist, Dirk Wiese, and drummer, Adam Aalderks. Aalderks left the band, and Jack Van Gent was named his replacement. [1] [2] [3]

Music history

The band commenced as a musical entity in 2009, with their first studio album, To Those Perishing, where it was released by Red Cord Records, on July 13, 2011. [4] [5] [6] Their subsequent studio album, Vainglory, was released on October 9, 2012, with Red Cord Records. [7] [8] [9] The band ceased as a musical entity, in April 2013. [10] Over the years, the members would create new projects, with Nick Powell forming his own project. [11] Vocalist Grant Lilley would go on to form Then It Ends with Dirk Wiese joining alongside former members of Dividing the Masses. [12]

The band also released a vinyl split of their song, Lay Down, in collaboration with Sainthood Reps, under the vinyl label, The Ambitious Guest. In February 2012, O'Brother went on a co-headlining tour with Junius. Aaron Wamack left the band prior to the tour's start.

7 Horns 7 Eyes is an American Christian death metal band based out of Seattle, Washington. The band formed in 2006 and released their debut album Throes of Absolution on April 24, 2012, on Century Media Records in North America and Basick Records in Europe. On January 10, 2014, after being silent for nearly two years, vocalist JJ Polachek announced the band is working on three potential releases for 2014 and 2015. It was described as a large conceptual work.

Those Who Fear, also known as TWF, was an American Christian metal band hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who were established in 2005. The groups' current label imprint is Facedown Records. In 2013, the band came out with a studio album called Unholy Anger. Their second studio album was issued in 2014, titled Death Sentence. Their third and Final album, State of Mind, was released in 2016.

Ace Augustine was an American metalcore band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The band started making music in 2008, and their membership throughout their tenure has been vocalists, Kyle Irwin, Ben Moser, and Ryan Feister, guitarists, Brian Fellenbaum, Tyler Chadwick, Alex Bolton, and Spencer Barnett, bassist, Cody Owen, drummers, Doug Fellenbaum and Josh Hess, and keyboardist, Brandon Klinger. The band released an independently made extended play, The Glory of Trumpets, in 2009. Their first studio album, The Absolute, was released by Strike First Records, in 2011. Southbound Fearing are an American Christian rock band, who primarily plays Christian alternative rock with rock and roll. They come from Toledo, Ohio. The band started making music in 2006. They have released three studio albums and two extended plays, with Red Cord Records. The group have charted eight songs on the Billboard magazine Christian rock songs chart.
