Red Cord Records was an American Christian record label that was based in Rockford, Illinois, founded in September 2008 by Joey Mathews. It closed in 2014.

History

The label started in September 2008, but officially launched in November, where it started producing records. [1] On March 29, 2011, Red Cord Records signed Phinehas and started working on their full-length called Thegodmachine . [2] On April 4, another signing was announced, with A Past Unknown being added to the roster. [3] On May 10, 2011, it was announced that Red Cord Records had entered into a worldwide distribution with Victory Records and that the first two releases through the new agreement included Phinehas' Thegodmachine and A Past Unknown‘s To Those Perishing, both of which will be released on July 19, that year. [4] The next day, Your Chance to Die was signed to Red Cord and album was coming Suscitatio Somnus was set to release on August 16. [5] In November, Embers In Ashes was signed into Red Cord, [6] where they released the album Outsiders, where their single "Then You Came" hit #16 on Billboard’s Christian Rock charts. [7] [8]

On April 1, 2012, Inhale Exhale signed with Red Cord Records after the band have split with Solid State Records, [9] the effort was being titled Movement. [10] [11] The album was released on October 9. [12] [13] [14] Later, the label signed Ace Augustine on August 19, where beginning working an album in the winter. [15] The Sick and Suffering released on April 23, 2013. Around that time, the label signed My Ransomed Soul and was set to release Falsehood on March 26. [16] On June 18, 2013, Phinehas announced their next album The Last Word Is Yours To Speak and will be released July 23. [17]

On December 14, 2014, it was announced that the label is entering hiatus, Joey stated talked about hiatus and explained the situation, stating that due to financial issues, it was no longer able to operate in a stable environment. [18] Years has passed and no updates have been added on the matter.

Embers in Ashes is an American Christian rock band from Birmingham, Alabama, that formed in 2010. The band's current lineup consists of Jeremy Bates, Drew Duvall, and Andrew Hargrave. They released Outsiders with Red Cord Records in 2012; the song "Then You Came" charted on the Christian Rock charts published by Billboard magazine. In 2014, the band released Killers & Thieves with Shamrock Records; the songs "Into My Arms", "The Mirror", and "What Matters" charted.

Twelve Gauge Valentine was an American post-hardcore band from Bastrop and Monroe, Louisiana, with their debut album Shock Value released on October 3, 2006. The band was initially supported by the Sound Vs. Silence label, with whom they released their debut EP, Exclamationaire. They have toured with bands, such as Haste the Day, From Autumn to Ashes, It Dies Today, Alesana, War of Ages, Demise of Eros, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Inhale Exhale, Anam Cara, Vanna, Once Nothing, Gwen Stacy, Society's Finest, The Handshake Murders, and Memphis May Fire.

Invent Animate is an American metalcore band formed in Port Neches, Texas, in 2011. The group consists of vocalist Marcus Vik, lead guitarist Keaton Goldwire, rhythm guitarist Trey Celaya, bassist Caleb Sherraden, and drummer Brody Taylor Smith. They self-released their debut EP titled Waves on March 13, 2012. After a number of regional tours and increasing popularity in the online djent community, the band was signed up by Tragic Hero Records in February 2014. The band announced they would release their debut studio album titled Everchanger on August 26, 2014. Their sophomore album, Stillworld, was released on July 8, 2016. Their third album and first with Marcus Vik, Greyview, was released on March 13, 2020. Their most recent studio album, Heavener, was released through their new label, UNFD, on March 17, 2023.

SharpTone Records is an American independent record label started on September 11, 2013. The label was founded by Nuclear Blast CEO Markus Staiger and former vice president of Sumerian Records Shawn Keith.
