A Texas Trip is a 1987 compilation album produced and recorded by the Butthole Surfers. [1] It features Daniel Johnston, Steve Fitch, Stick Men With Ray Guns (incorrectly listed as Stickmen With Rayguns on the cover and label) and the Butthole Surfers.
Butthole Surfers are an American rock band formed by singer Gibby Haynes and guitarist Paul Leary in San Antonio, Texas, in 1981. The band has had numerous personnel changes, but its core lineup of Haynes, Leary, and drummer King Coffey has been consistent since 1983. Teresa Nervosa served as second drummer from 1983 to 1985, 1986 to 1989, and 2009. The band has also employed a variety of bass players, most notably Jeff Pinkus.
Daniel Dale Johnston is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and visual artist who is regarded as a significant figure in outsider, lo-fi, and alternative music scenes. Most of his work consists of cassettes he recorded alone in his home, and his music is frequently cited for its "pure and childlike soul".
