A Wish for Christmas is the fifth album recorded by Philippine-based vocal ensemble Hangad. It is also the group's second Christmas album, the first being Pasko Naming Hangad. It is Hangad's shortest album to date, with four tracks.

Raymond's Lullaby is an original composition by Marchan Padla, a volunteer social worker at Ang Arko ng Pilipinas (an NGO for mentally handicapped children). "Raymond" is the name of one of Ang Arko's wards, who was afflicted with autism. The final version of the song was the result of a collaboration between Marchan and Hangad. In accordance with Marchan Padla's original intent for writing the song, proceeds of the album will be donated to Ang Arko ng Pilipinas.
Levi Celerio was a Filipino composer and lyricist who is credited with writing over 4,000 songs. Celerio was recognized as a National Artist of the Philippines for Music and Literature in 1997.

The San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra (SMPO) was one of the two major performing arts groups under the San Miguel Foundation for the Performing Arts. As a young ensemble, its wide selection of works encompassing musical genres attests to its versatility and dynamism. The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as APO Hiking Society, or simply APO, was a Filipino musical group composed of Danny Javier, Jim Paredes, and Boboy Garrovillo. The group had its fledgling beginnings in 1969 at the Ateneo de Manila high school, with 15 members: John Paul Micayabas, Lito de Joya, Sonny Santiago, Gus Cosio, Renato Garcia, Chito Kintanar, Kenny Barton, Bruce Brown, Butch Dans, Kinjo Sawada, Ric Segreto Macaraeg, Goff Macaraeg, Doden Besa, Jim Paredes, Boboy Garovillo, and the 16th member Danny Javier who joined in college. The group's name was created from the acronym AMHS representing their school with a witty twist having an irreverent reference to the Philippine revolutionary intellectual and hero, Apolinario Mabini, and later shortened to "Apo", an Ilocano term for a wise man or a Tagalog term of grandchildren, and later re-branded to "APO". Contrary to popular belief, the "Apo" name was not a reference to the Philippines's highest peak, the potentially-active stratovolcano Mount Apo.
