Abbath is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 2015 by former Immortal guitarist and vocalist Abbath Doom Occulta after departing from Immortal earlier in 2015. To date, the band has released three studio albums: Abbath (2016), Outstrider (2019) and Dread Reaver (2022).
In April 2015, Metalhammer announced that Abbath Doom Occulta had recruited members to the band, specifically King ov Hell from God Seed and drummer Creature to participate in the band. [1] They also recruited Vredehammer guitarist and vocalist Per Valla to tour with the band as lead guitarist. The band was set to enter a recording studio later this year to work on their debut album for a 2016 release. During their Debut performance at Tuska Open Air 2015, they played a completed song titled "Fenrir Hunts" that would be featured on then-upcoming debut album. [2] [3] Their debut self-titled album Abbath was released January 22, 2016 on Season of Mist. On December 12, 2015, it was announced that drummer Creature left the band. Several days later on December 15, live member Per Valla left the band. [4] At the start of 2016 Gabe Seeber, donning the Creature mask, joined as live drummer replacing Creature Kevin Foley and replacing Per Valla is Ole André Farstad, who played on the debut album, joined as live guitarist.
On October 6, 2016, Abbath announced on their Facebook page that they were working on their second album, planned for a 2017 release. [5]
On July 11, 2018, King ov Hell left the band due to conflicting views on lyrical concepts of the upcoming album. Emil Wiksten also left the band shortly after.
On March 14, 2019 they announced their second studio album Outstrider would be released on July 5, 2019 and a new line up that recorded the album and would perform live was revealed which included drummer Ukri Suvilehto, guitarist Raud and bassist Mia Wallace.
On November 25, 2019 Abbath Doom Occulta announced via Facebook that he was going into rehab for addiction following a concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, cancelling the remainder of Abbath's South American tour. The concert was delayed for two hours and concluded with Abbath throwing his guitar into the crowd after several false starts and being escorted to his dressing room. This led to a large amount of backlash on social media and violent clashes with fans and police. [6]
On January 28, 2020, Mia Wallace revealed that she was no longer part of the band. This message was relayed to her over the phone by the Abbath's manager shortly before the beginning of the Outstrider 2020 European tour. No formal announcement was made by the band, but she was replaced on bass by touring member Rusty Cornell. [7] Wallace would go on to become the bassist of Nervosa, and she would return to Abbath in 2021. [8]
It was announced in early 2021 that Abbath was recording their third studio album, due out later that year. [9] On January 12, 2022, Abbath announced the title of the album as Dread Reaver, which was released on March 25. [10]

Manowar is an American heavy metal band from Auburn, New York. Immortal is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen. The group was founded in 1991 by frontman and guitarist Abbath Doom Occulta and guitarist Demonaz Doom Occulta. The pair worked with various drummers, and were later joined by former drummer Horgh in 1996.
Candlemass is a Swedish epic doom metal band established in Upplands Väsby, a suburb of Stockholm in 1984 by bassist, songwriter and bandleader Leif Edling and drummer Matz Ekström. The band had a defining influence on doom metal, and the epic doom genre itself is named after their debut album Epicus Doomicus Metallicus. Along with Pentagram, Saint Vitus and Trouble, Candlemass has been referred to as one of the "big four of doom metal".

At the Heart of Winter is the fifth studio album by Norwegian black metal band Immortal. It was released on February 22, 1999 through Osmose Productions. It is the first Immortal album not to feature Demonaz on guitar, as he suffered from acute tendinitis in his hands, as well as the last album until Sons of Northern Darkness to feature Abbath on bass. The album marks a shift in Immortal's musical sound, towards a black metal and thrash metal fusion.
Sons of Northern Darkness is the seventh album by Norwegian black metal band Immortal. Musically, it continues the blackened thrash metal style heard on the two previous releases At the Heart of Winter and Damned in Black. This was the band's first release on Nuclear Blast Records and the last album to feature Iscariah on bass, who admitted to only play bass on the opening track "One by One", with the rest of the album's bass tracks being played by vocalist/guitarist Abbath, which is the last time he would contribute to playing bass before his departure in 2015.
Olve Eikemo, better known by his stage name Abbath Doom Occulta or simply Abbath, is a Norwegian musician best known as a founding member of the black metal band Immortal. Before founding Immortal, Abbath performed with Old Funeral alongside future Immortal member Demonaz. Following his departure from Immortal in 2015, he announced that he would be forming a new band under the Abbath name. Although primarily a guitarist, Abbath is also a proficient bassist and drummer, having started his career as a bassist and recorded all drums for Immortal albums Pure Holocaust and Battles in the North.

All Shall Fall is the eighth studio album by Norwegian black metal band Immortal. The album was released in Europe on 25 September 2009 and in the US on 6 October 2009. It is the only album to feature bassist Apollyon and the last to feature vocalist/guitarist Abbath Doom Occulta.
Motionless in White is an American metalcore band from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2004, the band consists of lead vocalist Chris "Motionless" Cerulli, guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky "Horror" Olson, drummer Vinny Mauro and bassist Justin Morrow. Kadavar is a German rock band from Berlin, founded in 2010. It currently consists of guitarist/lead vocalist Christoph "Lupus" Lindemann, drummer Christoph "Tiger" Bartelt, bassist Simon "Dragon" Bouteloup, and guitarist and keyboardist Jascha Kreft. Their retro style, incorporating psychedelic rock and stoner rock, has been compared to bands of the 1970s hard rock/heavy metal era such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Bartelt and Lindemann formed Kadavar as a trio with bassist Philipp "Mammut" Lippitz. When Lippitz left the band in July 2013, he was replaced by Bouteloup. After releasing six studio albums, Kadavar became a quartet in March 2023 with the addition of Kreft.
