Abdikadir Ore Ahmed (born 1972 in Giriftu, Wajir County) is a Kenyan health professional and politician who was a member of the 11th Kenyan parliament elected from Wajir West Constituency on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in 2013 with the support of CORD Coalition. [1] [2]

Biography

Abdikadir Ahmed was born in 1972 in Giriftu, Wajir County where he attended Giriftu Primary School from 1979 to 1985. He studied for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) at Sabunley Secondary School from 1985 to 1989 and earned a diploma in nursing, nutrition and health systems from Kenya Medical College in 1996. [3] He received a bachelor's degree in medical services from University of Dundee, Scotland in 2007 and master's degrees in health systems management from Kenya Methodist University in 2011, and another in leadership from Management University of Africa in 2016. [2]

He was elected to the Kenyan National Assembly in 2013 on the ticket of ODM and with support of CORD Coalition and served on the house committee on Administration and National Security. He spoke 51 times during the 11th parliament. [4] [5]

Professor Nyong'o was the acting party leader from March 11 until late May when Raila Odinga was in the United States and was elected to the National Assembly of Kenya in the December 2007 parliamentary election, representing the Kisumu Rural Constituency. He was the Minister for Medical Services and previously the Minister for Planning & National Development. He previously served as the Senator of Kisumu from 2013 to 2017.

Major-General Joseph Kasaine Ole Nkaissery was a Kenyan politician, serving as a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly of Kenya from 2002 to 2014, when he resigned to take up a cabinet position as Secretary for Internal Security and Coordination of National Government. He was also a senior elder of the Maasai community until his sudden death on 8 July 2017.

Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed is a Kenyan politician. As a member of Safina, Mohamed was elected to represent the Mandera Central Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election, defeating the incumbent Billow Kerrow.

Ahmed Abdi Ogle was a politician from Wajir who was elected three times to the Kenyan Parliament for the Wajir South Constituency under the one-party system. He recently served as National Organising Secretary of DP Kenya whilst the Deputy Mayor of Nairobi.

Mohamed Abdi Affey is a Kenyan politician who is currently serving as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa and former UNHCR Special Envoy to the Somalia Refugee situation. Before joining UNHCR, Ambassador Affey was the IGAD'S Special Envoy to Somalia and a former member of Parliament for Wajir South Constituency (1997-2002). In 2017 she won the seat through Party for development and reform, under the reign of the fourth president of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.

Aisha Jumwa Karisa Katana is the immediate former Cabinet Secretary for Gender, fired by President William Ruto on 11th July 2024. She previously served as a Member of Parliament representing Malindi Constituency in Kilifi County and Commissioner of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) from 2017 to 2022, the Woman Representative for Kilifi County from 2013 to 2017, and as Councillor for Takaungu Ward from 1997 to 2007. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Leadership and Management from International Leadership University [ILU] and Executive Diploma in Governance from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Mwinga Gunga Chea was a Kenyan lawyer and politician who was a member of the 11th parliament of Kenya elected from Kaloleni Constituency, Kilifi County on the ticket of Kenya African Democratic Union-Asili (KADU-Asili) in 2013. He died 2020.

Ibrahim Ahmed Sane is a Kenyan politician and a member of the 11th parliament elected from Garsen Constituency on the tick of URP in 2013. He is an activist against cultural practices including early girl child marriage.

Kubai Cyprian Iringo is a Kenyan politician and diplomat currently serving as Kenyan ambassador to Somalia. He was a member of the 11th parliament of Kennya elected from Igembe Central Constituency on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and with the support of CORD Coalition. He served on the house committee on Finance, Planning and Trade and spoke 462 times on the floor of the house during the 11th parliament. In December 2013, his party, ODM threatened to expel him and a fellow MP Mpuru Aburi from the party for expressing willingness to work with Jubilee Coalition government. He was appointed Kenyan ambassador to Somalia in October 2023. Iringo is a recipient of Shujaa Parliamentarian Award for “Championing Wananchi in matters of health” (2015) given by Mzalendo Trust.
