Abdul Ghani Malik is an Indian politician and member of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference. Malik is a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly from the Gulabgarh constituency in Udhampur district. [1] [2] [3] Malik was elected to the state legislative assembly in 1996 and made hatrick by winning the subsequent elections of 2002 and 2008. He was made a cabinet minister in 2009, in the Omar Abdullah led government, with the portfolios of higher education, labour and employment.

Malik served as the 10th and last Governor of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, from August 2018 to October 2019, and it was during his tenure that revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was taken on 5 August 2019. Later, he moved to Goa, becoming 18th governor, and also served as the 21st Governor of Meghalaya until October 2022.
