Abdul Quayyum Mollah is a Major General of Bangladesh Army and General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 7th infantry Division & Area Commandar of Barishal. Earlier, he served as the Commandant of Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operations Training. [1] [2]

Career

Brigadier General Mollah commanded the 360 Infantry Brigade based in Jalalabad Cantonment in 2016. [3] [4] From 16 December 2015 to 07 September 2016 he served as the station commander of Jalalabad Cantonment. [5]

In December 2020, Mollah was appointed the Controller of Examinations of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Bangladesh University of Professionals. [6]

Mollah hosted General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Chief of Staff of the Indian Army, during his visit to the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operations Training in April 2021. [7]

On 24 November 2021, Mollah attended a defence conference of the Bangladesh High Commission in the United Kingdom. [8]

General (Retd.) Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan is a retired Bangladeshi general who served as the Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army from 2012 to 2015. He took office at 25 June 2012 and retired on 25 June 2015. He joined Bangladesh Military Academy on 19 March 1976 and was commissioned on 30 November 1976 in the Corps of Infantry. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Forces Goal 2030</span> Military modernisation program

Forces goal 2030 is a military modernization program which began in 2009 and was revised in 2017. It was designed to enhance the capabilities of three service branches of Bangladesh Armed Forces: the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. The primary focus of the modernization program is the reformation of the military organization, expansion of the forces, the transformation of the indigenous defense sector to support research and manufacturing, and acquisition of modern military weapons. The requirement for modernization was realized in the aftermath of 2008 Bangladesh–Myanmar naval standoff later resulting in Bangladesh's favour. One of the primary objectives of the modernization program is to develop a three-dimensional force capable of conducting multi-platform warfare.
