Yahaya Seriki(born October 8, 1975) [1] is an APC Chieftain from Ilorin Kwara State in North central Nigeria. Before joining active politics, Yahaya Seriki is a businessman and philanthropist with focus on the poorest of the poor and persons living with disabilities. He is the Founder and managing director of Kursi Investments Limited. [2] [3]

He was born in Kaduna and brought up in Maiduguri and Jos;the administrative capital and largest city of Plateau State.

Politics

AbdulFatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari is a former Governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2019 gubernatorial election in Kwara state and is also a ranking chieftain of APC in Kwara state. [4] He was the first candidate to step down to rally support for the current Governor Abdrahman Abdulrasaq. [5]

He served as the Director General of the campaign that produced the current Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq. [6] [7] [8] He is a prominent member of the ‘O To Ge’ Movement that unseat the politics of the former senate President of Nigeria Bukola Saraki [9] in Kwara state. [10] [11]

Personal life

He is married to Fatimah Abdulfatah and the couple has four sons.

He was one of the pioneers of the Nigeria Navy Secondary School Abeokuta.The then Navy Captain Mohammed Lawal, invited the Nigerian Navy to consider a location of the defunct St Leo's Teachers' Training College at Ibara Abeokuta (www.nnssab.net)on a hilly Onikolobo site. This premises had been abandoned and merely serve as a route to the Catholic Compound and was also used for administering a newly conceived secondary school in that name. The Nigerian Navy considered the site and found it suitable. After the return to democracy in 1999 he was elected governor of Kwara State, holding office from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2003.

The 2019 Gombe State gubernatorial election occurred in Nigeria on 9 March 2019, the APC nominee Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya won the election, defeating Usman Bayero Nafada of the PDP. Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya emerged APC gubernatorial candidate after scoring 859 votes and defeating his closest rival, Mohammed Jibrin Barde who received 463 votes. He picked Manasseh Daniel Jatau as his running mate.

The 2019 Kwara State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019. APC's AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq polled 73.12% of the total votes, ahead of PDP's Razak Atunwa who got 25.31% of votes trailing behind by a margin of 216,792 votes, and several minor party candidates. APC won in all 16 LGAs of the state.

The elections coincided with the 2023 presidential election, as well as other elections to the Senate and elections to the House of Representatives; with state elections being held two weeks later. Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.

Muhammad Dele Belgore is a Nigerian lawyer and politician. He was the 2011 Action Congress of Nigeria's (ACN) Kwara State governorship candidate in the 2011 Kwara State gubernatorial election. However he lost out to the PDP's Governorship candidate, Abdulfatah Ahmed who became the Governor of Kwara state. Belgore is a native of Ilorin in Kwara state.
