Abdulla Mohd Al-Marri (born 22 June 1984) is an equestrian who rides for the United Arab Emirates in show jumping.

Career

He made his debut for the UAE at an international show jumping competition in Sharjah in 2002. [2]

In 2013, he won the main showjumping class at the inaugural Festival of the Horse in Dubai. [3]

He was a member of the UAE team that won the Challenge Cup at the FEI Nations Cup Finals in Barcelona in 2017. [2]

At the 2022 Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China, he won two medals in the show jumping, an individual bronze and team bronze. [4] [5] [6]

He secured a spot at the 2024 Olympic Games at a regional qualifier in Doha in January 2024. [2]

In July 2024, he was confirmed for the United Arab Emirates at the 2024 Paris Olympics. [7]

The United Arab Emirates participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, which were held from 8 to 24 August 2008. The country's participation at the Beijing Olympics marked its seventh appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1984 Summer Olympics. The delegation sent by the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee consisted of eight athletes in seven sports: athletics, equestrian, judo, sailing, shooting, swimming and taekwondo. Two of the eight athletes were women, making Beijing the first time the country had sent female athletes to a Summer Olympiad, and most of their athletes qualified for the Games by using a wild card or receiving an invitation from the Tripartite Commission. The country did not win any medals at the Games; the best performance of the delegation was from sport shooter Ahmad Al-Makotum, who placed seventh in the qualification round of the men's double trap and lost a subsequent four-man shoot-out.

Benjamin Richard Maher MBE is a British show jumper. He represented Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2009 European Championships in Windsor, 2012 London Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics. He won the team jumping gold at the London Olympics with Team GB, their first team jumping gold medal for 60 years, an individual gold for Great Britain at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and team jumping gold again at the 2024 Paris Summer Games. That win tied him with three-day eventer Richard Meade and dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin as the most successful British Olympic equestrians.

Abdullah Waleed Al Sharbatly is a Saudi Arabian equestrian who competes in the sport of show jumping. He is mostly known because of his win of the individual silver medal at the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games. He was part of the Saudi team that won the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
