The Aberdeen Citizen was the highest distributed free newspaper in Aberdeen. It was a weekly newspaper. Launched in 1989, as the Aberdeen Herald & Post, it was re-launched as its current title in 2002. It provided a round-up of the week's community news, sport and events to over 75,000 households in the city and surrounding areas. "We have a good team spirit at the Aberdeen Citizen and we work together to make sure that every resident in Aberdeen City and Shire gets their paper!" The Aberdeen Citizen expanded progressively since its launch in 1989 and won "The Best Free Newspaper In Scotland" Award.
The paper's print version ceased publication on 23 May 2018. However, its online version has been merged with The Press and Journal .

Oriental Daily News is a Chinese-language newspaper in Hong Kong. It was established in 1969 by Ma Sik-yu and Ma Sik-chun, and was one of the two newspapers published by the Oriental Press Group Limited. Relative to other Hong Kong newspapers, Oriental Daily News has an older readership.

24 Hours is a group of English-language and French-language free daily newspapers published in Canada. The Toronto and Vancouver editions were sold to Postmedia Network as part of Quebecor's divestment of English-language news, and they were later acquired by Torstar in an asset swap on November 27, 2017 and immediately shut down in favour of the Torstar-owned Metro papers in those cities.
Mumbai Mirror was an English-language newspaper that was initially launched in 2005 by the Times Group as part of a ringfencing tactic to fight emerging competition in the city, mainly from Zee–Bhaskar's then joint newspaper, Daily News and Analysis. Mumbai Mirror was downsized and digitised by its owners at The Times Group on 5 December 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown.
London Lite was the trading name of a British free daily newspaper, published by Associated Newspapers, and now defunct. It was available Monday to Friday afternoons and evenings from street distributors in Central London only. On 27 October 2009, Associated Newspapers announced that it had entered into negotiation with staff over the future of the paper. The last edition was published on Friday, 13 November 2009, a date chosen by staff for its swan song.

Published every other week, it has a circulation of 11,000 print copies and is the largest print publication serving the LGBT community in the American Southeast. The paper traces its origins to the monthly newsletter of the Queen City Quordinators, a Charlotte LGBT organization, which they began publishing in 1983. In 1986, Qnotes changed to a monthly tabloid. In 2006, it merged with the Raleigh, N.C. LGBT newspaper The Front Page.

On 6 October 2013 it launched an English news website called The Cairo Post.
