Nominations were announced on September 8, 2010. On September 14, 2010 it was announced that the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year honoree would be Plácido Domingo. The big winners of the night were Camila, Juan Luis Guerra and Gustavo Cerati with three awards.

Kairo was a Mexican pop vocal group established in 1993 as a trio made up of Paul Forat, Francisco Zorrilla and Eduardo Verástegui, a future actor. As members left, starting with Verástegui in 1996, they were replaced with others like Gabriel Soto and Roberto Assad, who both joined in 1997, and Paulo César Quevedo in 1998. The band folded in 1999.

Morat is a Colombian band formed in the country's capital city, Bogotá. The band is formed by Juan Pablo Isaza, Juan Pablo Villamil and the brothers Simón Vargas and Martín Vargas. Previously, until the end of 2016, drummer Alejandro Posada had been in the band. However, the percussionist had to leave the project, being subsequently replaced by Martín Vargas.
