Abu Saleh Najmuddin

Abu Saleh Najmuddin was a former legislature of Assam. He won assembly elections in 1991 and 1996 from Badarpur constituency. [1] He was a Minister in Government of Assam under the chief ministership of late Hiteswar Saikia. [2] [3] Abu Saleh was an advocate by profession.

Political career

Abu Saleh fought the 1996 Assembly Constituency Election as the Congress candidate and was elected as the MLA from Badarpur Constituency with a total vote of 30138 against Dipak Deb of BJP who gained 2nd position with 16434 votes. [1]

In 1996, he stood against CPM candidate Ramendra De whom he defeated with a huge margin of 35,256. [4]

Ranjit Dutta is an Indian politician from the state of Assam. He is presently a member of Assam Legislative Assembly since 2016 for the Behali constituency. He served as MLA of Behali from 2001 to 2011. He was a minister in the Sarbananda Sonowal-led government from 2016 to 2021.

Bismita Gogoi Indian politician

Bismita Gogoi is an Indian politician from the state of Assam who is currently general secretary of All India Mahila Congress in Assam. Gogoi was the member of Assam Legislative Assembly for Khumtai from 2011 to 2016 and culture minister of Assam from 2015 to 2016. She is a member of the Indian National Congress.
