Adam Carmer (born April 3, 1966) is a Las Vegas-based entrepreneur, professor, and author. He is the original owner and creator of The Freakin' Frog and the founder and curator of The Whisky Attic. He is the author of the book The Method, and the inventor of CSTEM, the Carmer Spirits Tasting Enhancement Method, an alternate method for tasting spirits and wine.
Adam Carmer was born April 3, 1966, in Beverly Hills, CA, to Robert “Skippy” and Nina Carmer. He lived in Beverly Hills until moving to the San Fernando Valley in 1976. He married his wife Jill on Oct 12, 1991. They have three children together and live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Adam Carmer started his education at The University of Southern California with a focus in philosophy, cinema, and communications. In 1996 he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Communications at The University of Nevada Las Vegas. In 2011 he completed his Masters of Science in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He is currently attending The University of Liverpool where he is pursuing a Doctorate in Higher Education.
Carmer's first job in Las Vegas while completing his degree was as a maitre’d on the opening team at Treasure Island in 1993. In November 1996, he was inducted into the Chaine des Rotisseurs gourmet club. [1] From 1997 to 2000, he worked as the Director of Restaurants and Hotel Sommelier for The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. [2] It was during this time he became Steve Wynn's first hotel Sommelier. Carmer devised and demonstrated a new form of table service called "Apparition Service” [3] at Café Michelle in August 2002. [4] He has served as a professor for the UNLV Harrah's Hotel College since 1996 teaching courses in cost control, entrepreneurship, spirits, old world wine, new world wine and beer. [5] [6]
In June 2003, Carmer opened The Freakin' Frog, followed by The Whisky Attic in 2005. The bar was originally opened as a beer and wine café with ten beers on tap and 300 wines. Through customer feedback it evolved into the first craft beer bar in Nevada and the first whisky bar of its kind in the country. The Freakin' Frog offered over 1000 types of beer in bottles, with 15 taps that were constantly updated. As of late October 2013, The Freakin' Frog is officially on hiatus. The Whisky Attic was originally located upstairs from the Frog and stocked with over 900 whiskies from around the world. [7] The Whisky Attic is still operational and moved to its current location in the city. Through his teaching and tasting experiences, he developed the Carmer Spirits Taste Enhancement Method, known as CSTEM or '"The Method". [2] [8] He appeared on Bar Rescue as a craft beer expert.
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is a public land-grant research university in Paradise, Nevada. The 332-acre (134 ha) campus is about 1.6 mi (2.6 km) east of the Las Vegas Strip. Ralph Louis Engelstad was an American businessman who owned the Imperial Palace casino-hotels in Las Vegas and in Biloxi, Mississippi. He also owned the Kona Kai motel in Las Vegas, which later became the Klondike Hotel and Casino. He was also the donor for the construction of the $104 million Ralph Engelstad Arena for his alma mater, the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and another arena bearing his name in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Engelstad was also a co-developer of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Engelstad was one of the very few independent casino-hotel owners in Las Vegas.

The design features downsized replicas of numerous city landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty. The hotel tower represents various skyscrapers. Its tallest structure is a replica of the Empire State Building, standing at 47 stories and 529 feet. This made New York-New York the tallest building in Nevada until the completion of Wynn Las Vegas in 2005. The property includes the Big Apple Coaster, which travels around the hotel tower. The casino is 51,765 sq ft (4,809.1 m2), and the hotel contains 2,024 rooms.

At Foro Italico, the Wine Spectator Magazine awarded its wine list with the "Award of Excellence" 6 years in a row. Muscaglione has been featured in the Wine Spectator Magazine, The Bergen Record and The New York Times. Lost Spirits is a working distillery with an amusement park-like tour founded by Bryan Davis and Joanne Haruta. The distillery was initially located in Salinas, California, where it opened in 2010. Juyoung Kang is an American bartender. Kang serves as the head bartender at The Dorsey at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States. Her work has been featured on KNPR and in The Atlantic, GQ, Food & Wine, Men's Health, ForbesLas Vegas Weekly and Eater. Kang was named "Most Imaginative Bartender of the Year" by the United States Bartenders' Guild and Bombay Sapphire in 2014 and the following year, she was named the Nevada Restaurant Association's Bartender of the Year. She was named one of Wine Enthusiast's top "40 Under 40 Tastemakers" in 2017.
Hae Un Lee was a Korean-born American businessman and the chief executive officer of Lee's Discount Liquor, which he founded in Nevada in 1981, after immigrating to the United States from South Korea a year earlier. By 2006, the company had become the largest alcohol retailer in Nevada. As of 2017, it operated 22 locations statewide. Lee was a well known philanthropist in his hometown of Las Vegas, where he also owned the Koreatown Plaza shopping center.
Lee's Discount Liquor is a chain of liquor stores in Nevada. It was founded by Hae Un Lee in 1981, and is the largest liquor retailer in the state, with 22 locations as of 2017. Besides the Las Vegas Valley and Reno, the company also has stores in Mesquite and West Wendover, two locations that are popular with residents of nearby Utah, where alcohol laws are more strict. The company is known for its humorous advertising, which often features Hae Un Lee and his son Kenny Lee, who respectively served as chief executive officer and president for the company. Hae Un Lee died of pancreatic cancer in 2021, and Kenny Lee took over as CEO, serving until his death in a car crash less than three months later.
