Adam M. Morgan (born April 26, 1989) is an American politician, attorney, composer, filmmaker and president of Majesty Music.

Early life

Morgan was born in Dallas, Texas, to Timothy and Michele Morgan. [1] He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Bob Jones University in 2011, where he served as the student body president. [2] He then graduated with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from University of South Carolina School of Law in 2015, and became a member of the South Carolina Bar.

Political career

Morgan was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from the 20th District, serving from November 2018 to November 2024. He represented the Eastside of Greenville, South Carolina in the Upstate of South Carolina. He is a member of the Republican Party. [3]

In 2021 Morgan was elected as the Founding Chairman of the South Carolina Freedom Caucus [4] He also served on the House Legislative Oversight and Education and Public Works Committees. [5]

2024 U.S. House election

In November 2023, Morgan announced that he would run for South Carolina's 4th Congressional District, a seat held by William Timmons. Morgan was endorsed in the race by South Carolina's 5th Congressional District US House member Ralph Norman. [6] Morgan lost the Republican primary to Timmons by a narrow margin, vacating his South Carolina House seat. [7] [8]

Entertainment career

Morgan is currently the president and co-owner of Majesty Music, a publishing company, recording studio, and music academy headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina. [9] He has written several songs, children's books, and produced the popular Patch the Pirate children's series since 2014. He served as the writer and executive producer of the 2018 Patch the Pirate animated cartoon, "Operation Arctic: Viking Invasion".

Morgan has published more than 70 songs, including "Arise" (2015), "The One Who First Loved Me" (2015), "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (2016), "In God We Trust, In God Alone" (2016), "God of Wonders" (2017), "Only One" (2018), "Can It Be" (2019), "Face Your Fears" (2020), "Justified" (2021) and "At the Name of Jesus" (2021). He also co-wrote several songs with his wife, Megan Morgan, and his father-in-law, Ron "Patch" Hamilton.

In 2016, Morgan married Megan Hamilton, daughter of singer/songwriter Ron "Patch" Hamilton and Shelly Hamilton. The couple and their three children [10] live in Taylors, South Carolina.

Patch the Pirate is an Evangelical Christian series of character-building, comical, and musical recordings for children produced by Majesty Music. These comical capers teach Christian values to children through story and song recordings, children's choir clubs, and radio programs. Patch the Pirate was played by Ron "Patch" Hamilton, who was a Christian singer, songwriter, composer, evangelist, and personality. Ron Hamilton has created and published 40 Patch the Pirate Adventures including the first release Sing Along with Patch the Pirate in 1981, and the latest release in 2019 "The Final Voyage?". Over 2 million Patch the Pirate adventures have been sold since the release of the first album. The Patch the Pirate Radio Program is recognized by the National Religious Broadcasters as the third largest religious children's programming outreach.

Ronald Allen Hamilton, also known as "Patch the Pirate", was an American Christian musician, composer, preacher, and radio personality. He was president and owner of Majesty Music, a Christian music publisher, and the creator of the Patch the Pirate Adventure series. Ron Hamilton became affectionately known as "Patch the Pirate" when he began wearing an eye patch after losing his left eye to cancer in 1978. He published hundreds of songs and hymns and wrote numerous cantatas, plays, and children's stories.
