Addison Grace Hadley is the current reigning Miss United States. [1] [2] Hadley was crowned Miss United States 2023 on October 22, 2023, at the Cannon Center for Performing Arts in Memphis, Tennessee. [2] [3] Hadley is a professional mental health counselor. [1] [2] Her charitable platform is called "Volunteer to be the Village" and focuses on initiatives to help impoverished children. [2] [1]

Early life and education

Hadley grew up on her family's farm in Tchula, Mississippi. [2] [4] According to the Census Bureau's American Community Survey 2008–2012, Tchula was the poorest town in the poorest state within the United States. [5] Hadley grew up in an impoverished family and faced food insecurity as a child. [1] Hadley holds a bachelor's degree in political science and psychology from Middle Tennessee State University [1] [6] and a M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University. [1]

Personal life

Hadley currently lives in Denver, Colorado. [2] Hadley is Jewish - she converted to Judaism while she was a graduate student at Vanderbilt University. [7] Hadley openly identifies as queer. [8] [9]

Pageants

Hadley has competed in the Miss United States, Miss America, and Miss Volunteer America pageant systems. Within the Miss America system she held the title of Miss MTSU 2018 (Miss Tennessee). The Miss America 2020 competition was held on Thursday, December 19, 2019. This was the 93rd Miss America pageant/competition, though the Miss America Organization celebrated its 99th anniversary in 2019. This discrepancy is due to national pageants not being held from 1928 to 1932 or in 1934 because of financial problems associated with the Great Depression.

Miss Teen USA 2020 was the 38th Miss Teen USA pageant. Originally scheduled to be held in spring 2020, the competition was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was later rescheduled for November 7, 2020, at the Exhibition Centre and the Soundstage at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Kaliegh Garris of Connecticut crowned Ki'ilani Arruda of Hawaii as her successor at the end of the event. The competition was hosted by Allie LaForce and Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst.

Asya Danielle Branch is an American beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss USA 2020 and represented her country at Miss Universe 2020 where she reached in the top 21.
