Adela Elad (born 25 October 1987) is a Cameroonian movie actress, producer [1] and philanthropist. [2] She started her acting career in 2012 in the movie University Girls. She won the 2015 edition of African dream achiever award. [3] As a producer, her works include Night in the grassfield under her production Mae Pictures. [4] Her first international movie debut project was Baby Daddy with Nigerian Nollywood producer Emem Isong featuring stars like Alexx Ekubo. [5] [6]
Adela Elad was born on 25 October 1987 in Bamenda, the capital of the north west region of Cameroon. She is a native of Kwen. She attended primary school in Douala, then went on to the Government Bilingual Secondary School in Santchou before graduating from high school at City College of Commerce Mankon in Bamenda. She later attended the University of Buea.[ citation needed ]
In 2012 Elad started acting, appearing in the movie "University girls". [3] Since then she has been active in the cinema of Cameroon with movies such has "U-turn", "Wrong combination" and others. She has also acted two television series "Rumble" and "Bad Angels" both broadcast on Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV). In 2016, she launched her own movie production known as Mae Pictures and has produced the movie Night of the grassfield. [7] In 2015 she won the African dream achiever award. [3]
Elad is a philanthropist with focussing on children who lack basic facilities. In 2016 she created the Mae Foundation as a medium to reach out to underprivileged children. [2]

The Tikar are a Central African people who inhabit the Adamawa Region and Northwest Region of Cameroon. They are known as great artists, artisans and storytellers. Once a nomadic people, some oral traditions trace the origin of the Tikar people to the Nile River Valley in present-day Sudan. Such ethnic groups were referred to in the 1969 official statistics as "Semi-Bantus" and "Sudanese Negroes." They speak a Northern Bantoid language called Tikar. One of the few African ethnic groups to practice a monotheistic traditional religion, the Tikar refer to God the Creator by the name Nyuy. They also have an extensive spiritual system of ancestral reverence.
The 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards ceremony honouring movies of 2012 was held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on 20 April 2013. The event was hosted by actress and former AMAA winner Ama K. Abebrese and Ayo Makun with many celebrities in attendance. The awards' nomination party was held in Lilongwe, Malawi; it was hosted by President Joyce Banda. A total of 671 films were submitted for consideration across Africa, America, Canada, France, Germany, Guadalupe, Italy, Jamaica, and the United Kingdom. Confusion Na Wa won the best picture award. The late Justus Esiri was awarded the Best Actor in a leading role posthumously.

She has appeared in several international movies, including One Night in Vegas and Black November. Cameroonian singer Said Barah has referred to her as "Young Oprah" in one of his songs called Sahndra Fon Dufe, in admiration for her creative ingenuity and inspirational influence for young women all over Africa.
