Adrian Kowanek (born 4 October 1977 [1] ), also known as Covan, is a Polish musician. He is the former lead vocalist of the death metal bands Atrophia Red Sun and Decapitated. He was also the touring vocalist for technical death metal band Sceptic. [2]
On 29 October 2007, the tour bus for Decapitated was involved in an accident with a truck carrying wood in Gomel, on the Russia–Belarus border. Both Witold Kieltyka (also known as Vitek) and Kowanek were seriously injured. While it was initially believed that they were taken to Moscow to be treated after treatment at a local hospital, it was later confirmed that they were only taken to be treated in Novozybkov, where they remained. On 2 November 2007, Vitek died from his injuries from the accident. He was 23 years old. Covan showed slow but progressive signs of improvement. [3] Covan's family released a short update in October 2008 concerning his improving condition. [4]
In 2008, Kowanek left Decapitated during the band's hiatus, due to his slow recovery. He had reportedly suffered from cardiac arrest and cerebral hypoxia, which left him paralyzed and reliant on a wheelchair. [5]

Vader is a Polish death metal band from Olsztyn. Formed in 1983, the group was founded by then-bassist Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek and guitarist Zbigniew "Vika" Wróblewski. Vader went through several lineup changes over the years, with Wiwczarek as the only constant member. Since 2022, the band has comprised Wiwczarek on lead guitar and vocals, rhythm guitarist Marek "Spider" Pająk, bassist Tomasz "Hal" Halicki, and drummer Michał Andrzejczyk.

Atrophia Red Sun was a Polish death metal band from Kraków, Poland.
The band was founded in 1994 in Krakow, Poland initially under the name TORMENTOR, on the initiative of guitarists Jacek Hiro and Dariusz Styczen and drummer Maciej Zięba. A year later, already functioning as SCEPTIC, Dariusz Styczeń left the group and was replaced by Jacek Mrożek. In 1996, supplemented by a vocalist, the group recorded the first demo entitled "Demo'96". After the recordings, Stawiarski left the group, whose role was taken over by Mrożek. In the same year, the bassist Paweł Kolasa joined the band with whom the band recorded the second demo entitled "Beyond Reality".
Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka is a Polish musician, best known as the guitarist of the death metal band Decapitated. In addition to Decapitated, Wacław has been the guitarist of Lux Occulta since 1998, as well as a former member of the Krakow group Sceptic. He also worked with the death metal band Vader. He is a graduate of musical school in the first and second degree, and attended the Academy of Music in Kraków as an accordionist.
Witold "Vitek" Kiełtyka was a Polish musician, best known as the drummer and percussionist for the death metal band Decapitated, and younger brother of the musician Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka. He had been with the band since its inception in 1996, when he was only twelve years old. He also worked with the death metal bands Dies Irae and Panzer X. He used Pearl drums, Remo drumheads and Alchemy cymbals.
The Red Shore are an Australian deathcore band from Geelong, Victoria, formed in 2004. They signed to Big Phat Adelaide Records and Modern Music in 2006 and released their first EP, Salvaging What's Left. The band earned an international fan base in the underground music community and became an innovating act in the modern death metal genre.
