Nawab Akbar Shahbaz Khan Bugti was a Pakistani politician and the Tumandar (head) of the Bugti tribe of Baloch people who served as the Minister of State for Interior and Governor of Balochistan Province in Pakistan. Aftab Ghulam Nabi KaziSPk,SK,also known as AGN Kazi,was a Pakistani civil servant and a bureaucrat during the Cold War and during the post cold war. Kazi was born in Sindh,Bombay Presidency,in 1919 to an academic family. He started his career in the Indian Civil Service in 1944 and served as the Deputy Commissioner of Bihar and Orissa. After the partition of India,Kazi migrated to Pakistan and joined the Provincial Government of Sindh,and held positions such as Secretary of Finance and Secretary to the Governor.
Chaudhry Ali Akbar Khan was a Pakistani politician and diplomat. He was elected as a member of the Punjab Provincial Assembly in British India in 1946. A prominent Pakistan Movement activist,Khan went on to serve in the newly-independent state of Pakistan as the provincial education minister of Punjab from 1953 to 1955 under chief minister Malik Feroz Khan Noon,and as the federal Minister for Home and Kashmir Affairs in the cabinet of president Ayub Khan from 1965 to 1966.

The Interior Secretary of Pakistan is the Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Interior. As in-charge of the country's law and order machinery,the Interior Secretary is one of the most coveted and sensitive positions in the Government of Pakistan. The position holder is a BPS-22 grade officer,usually belonging to the Pakistan Administrative Service.
The federal secretary is the highest-ranking position in the Government of Pakistan,occupied by the most senior civil servant in a specific ministry or division. The secretary is the administrative head of that ministry or division and oversees and enforces public policy matters. The authority for the creation of this post solely rests with the Cabinet of Pakistan. The position holder is a BPS-22 grade officer,usually belonging to the Pakistan Administrative Service.
Grade 22 is the highest attainable rank for a Civil Servant in Pakistan. Grade 22 is equal to a 3-star rank of the Pakistan Armed Forces. With over five hundred thousand civil servants and bureaucrats in Pakistan,only a few dozen officers serve in BPS-22 grade at a given time. Hence,not even 1% of the country's civil servants and/or bureaucrats make it to the highest rank. Officers serving in BPS-22 grade are largely considered to be the most influential individuals in the country.
On 13 July 2018,ahead of Pakistan's general election,two bombings took place at election rallies in Bannu and Mastung.
On 22 July 2018,3 days before general elections,a suicide bomber blew himself near the vehicle of former KPK provincial minister of Agriculture Ikramullah Khan Gandapur in Kulachi,Dera Ismail Khan District,Pakistan. The prime target of attack,Gandapur was brought to Dera Ismail Khan in critical condition where he succumbed to his wounds. Apart from Gandapur,his driver and one of his guards was also killed and three more people were injured. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the assault describing Gandapur's killing of their colleague militants as the motive. The attack was widely condemned across Pakistan.
Zartaj Gul is a Pakistani politician who served as Minister of State for Climate Change,in Imran Khan ministry from 5 October 2018 until 10 April 2022 when Imran Khan was ousted by a no-confidence motion. She remained a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan between August 2018 and January 2023.
Maj (r) Azam Suleman Khan is a retired Pakistani civil servant who serves as the Provincial Ombudsman of Punjab. He previously served in BPS-22 grade as the Interior Secretary of Pakistan,Chief Secretary Punjab and as Chief Secretary Sindh. Khan was promoted to the rank of Federal Secretary in February 2017 by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The Subah of Lahore was a province of the Mughal Empire encompassing the central Punjab and eastern Punjab,now divided between Pakistan and India. It was created as one of the original 12 Subahs of the Mughal Empire under the administrative reforms carried by emperor Akbar in 1580. The province ceased to exist after the death of its last viceroy,Adina Beg in 1758,with large parts being incorporated into Durrani Empire. Collectively,Lahore and Multan Subahs comprised Mughal Punjab.
Mirza Shahzad Akbar is a Pakistani politician and barrister who served as Advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Interior and Accountability in the capacity of a Federal Minister in Cabinet,in office from August 2020. Before his appointment as Advisor to Prime Minister,Akbar served in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as a deputy prosecutor. Shahzad Akbar resigns as PM's adviser on accountability and interior.
