Agnes Jeruto Barsosio is a Kenyan athlete and marathon runner. [1] She was born in 1983. She competes for the Kenya national team and represents Kenya in international athletics competitions. [2]
Barsosio was issued with a five year ban from competition by the Athletics Integrity Unit in September 2023 due to a doping violation. [3]
In 2008, she was the second best athlete in the Lille Half Marathon and won the Foulees Monterelaises. She finished second in the 10 km race at Taroudant. In the same year, she debuted on the Düsseldorf Marathon and won the race. In April 2012, Agnes competed in the 10th Metro Group Marathon Düsseldorf. This was her debut in the marathon and she both won and set a new course record in a time of 2:25:49, surpassing the previous record by just under a minute. [4]
On 6 May 2017, Barsosio competed in the sixth edition of České Budějovice Half Marathon held in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. She emerged winner and set a new course record with a time of 1:09:53 after defeating fellow Kenyan female athletes, Rebecca Cheris and Lucy Wangui Kabuu. On June 3, 2017, she competed in the Budweis half marathon, where she reached a new personal best of 01:09:56. [5] On June 25, 2017, she set a new race record in the sixth Ceske Budejovice Half Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race, in a record time of 1:09:53. This achievement broke the previous record of 1:10:40 set last year by Ashete Bekere of Ethiopia. [6]
In August 2023, Barsosio was provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit under a "Prohibited Substance/Method" violation. [7]

He has a half marathon best of 58:46 minutes and a marathon best of 2:07:06 hours. On the roads, he has won the Philadelphia Half Marathon, Kagawa Marugame Half Marathon and Stramilano races.

Rose Chelimo is a Kenyan-born Bahraini long-distance runner who competes in road running events up to the marathon distance. She is the 2017 IAAF world champion. She represented Bahrain at the 2016 Summer Olympics, placing eighth in the women's marathon.
Rhonex Kipruto is a Kenyan long-distance runner. Kipruto won the bronze medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2019 World Athletics Championships and was the world record holder for the 10 km road race, until he was stripped of both titles in June 2024 due to “a deliberate and sophisticated doping regime”. Prior to his result being annulled, Kipruto placed third on the half marathon world all-time list.
Abraham Kiptum is a Kenyan long-distance runner and former half marathon world record holder. On 28 October 2018 Kiptum ran the Valencia Half Marathon in Valencia, Spain in a time of 58:18, which would have been a world record, but in 2019 this world record was nullified, because of a doping violation verdict in 2019. The half marathon world record was then improved by Geoffrey Kipsang Kamworor on 15 September 2019, to a time of 58:01.
Lawrence Cherono is a Kenyan long-distance runner. He is currently the 8th fastest marathon performer of all time with his 2:03:04 clocking at the 2020 Valencia Marathon. Cherono is a past winner of both the Boston and Chicago marathons.
Stella Barsosio is a Kenyan long-distance runner. In 2021, she won the Rotterdam Marathon.
