Voice of the Arabs or Sawt al-Arab was one of the first and most prominent Egyptian transnational Arabic-language radio services. Based in Cairo, the service became known to many Arabs and non-alike, as the main medium through which former Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser spread his messages on Arab unity and revolutions across the Arab world. Despite its unmatched popularity in most of the 1950s and 1960s, the service no longer commands a large audience and does not play a significant role in domestic Egyptian or regional politics.
The National Alliance was an electoral alliance in Egypt that was established by former Egyptian prime minister Kamal Ganzouri; Ganzouri decided not to compete in the 2015 Egyptian parliamentary election. The spokesman for the Egyptian Front criticized the alliance for its inclusion of "Mubarak-era government ministers". The Egyptian Wafd Coalition declined an offer to join the alliance. Ahmed Tawfik Taymour Pasha (1871–1930) was an Egyptian writer and historian. Taymour Pasha was born on 6 November 1871 in Cairo to a family of the Egyptian elite, his father Isma'il Taymur being of Kurdish origin and his mother of Turkish descent.
Ahmed Gamal Hafez El Segini is an Egyptian engineer, businessman, member of parliament and politician. El Segini is a member of the Wafd party one of Egypt's oldest political parties and he is one of its parliamentarians in Egypt's House of representatives. El Segini is also the chairman of parliament's local government committee. El Segini ran for office in Egypt's Egyptian parliamentary election representing Wafd on For the Love of Egypt electoral list which ardently supported the administration of President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi. The list swept the elections with a landslide and El Segini was elected as a member of Egypt's house of representatives. Later El Segini was elected to lead the parliamentary committee on local government which is currently drafting the local government legislation that happens to be a prerequisite to holding the long-awaited municipal elections which haven't been held since even before the Egyptian revolution of 2011. Ahmed Gamal Hafez Al Segini belongs to one of Egypt's influential families, the Segini family, and among his relatives are, Abdel Raouf Al Segini, the ninth Grand Imam of al-Azhar, renowned Egyptian sculptor Gamal El Segini, Egyptian sculptor Zainab Al Segini, former deputy of the minister of interior General Ashraf Al Segini.
