Ahmet Kaya (born 1971,Trabzon),Turkish politician and mechanical engineer.
He was born in Trabzon in 1971. He graduated from Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) Faculty of Engineering and Architecture,Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1994. He held positions as SHP Trabzon Youth Branch Board Member,CHP Trabzon Center District Vice President,CHP Trabzon Province Vice President,CHP Trabzon Center District President and CHP Trabzon Ortahisar District Founder President. He held offices as Ataturkist Thought Association Trabzon Branch Chairperson and Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) Chamber of Mechanical Engineers,Trabzon Branch Board Member. He is also a congress member of Trabzonspor.
On 9 April 2023 he was included in deputy candidacy lists of Republican People's Party (CHP) in Trabzon. [1] However,he failed to be elected in Turkish general elections.
He announced on 21 December 2023,that he became the Ortahisar Municipality President candidate from Republican People's Party for 2024 Turkish local elections. [2]

Ekrem İmamoğlu is a Turkish businessman,real estate developer,and social democratic politician serving as the 32nd Mayor of Istanbul. He was first elected with 4.1 million votes and won with a margin of 13 thousand votes against his AKP opponent in the March 2019 mayoral election as the joint Nation Alliance candidate of the Republican People's Party (CHP) and the Good Party. He served only from 17 April 2019 until 6 May 2019,when the election was annulled. He was then reelected in a renewed election on 23 June 2019 by an even larger margin of 800,000 votes. The June 2019 Istanbul mayoral election was held on 23 June 2019. It was a repeat of the March 2019 mayoral election,which was annulled by the Supreme Electoral Council (YSK) on 6 May 2019. Canan Kaftancıoğlu is a Turkish physician and politician. She was until 2023 the president of the Republican People's Party's (CHP) in Istanbul. In September 2019,she was sentenced to 9 years and 8 months imprisonment for insulting the president and terrorism related charges but after an appeal by the CHP,the Court of Cassation reduced her sentence to over 4 years and 11 months in May 2022. The Turkish government under President Tayyip Erdoğan's administration put her on trial for tweeting about the Armenian genocide and assassinations of the three female members of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in Paris. Her trial came in the wake of her party's victory in regional elections in Istanbul. During her trial she read out a poem by Nâzım Hikmet.

A total of 30 metropolitan and 1,363 district municipal mayors,alongside 1,282 provincial and 21,001 municipal councilors were elected,in addition to numerous local non-partisan positions such as neighborhood representatives (muhtars) and elderly people's councils.
