Aimee Olexy is an American restaurateur who, with Stephen Starr owns The Love in Philadelphia. [1] They also co-own Talula's Table and Talula's Garden. [2]

Biography

Olexey grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania. In the late 1980s, as a teenager, her first restaurant job was in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania at Spring Mill Café. She attended St. Joseph’s University where she earned a degree in English literature followed by a MBA. She went on to France and attended l’Universitie du Vin. [3]

Career

In 1999, she returned to Philadelphia and got jobs relating to operations in the restaurant industry. Her first job with Starr was as general manager of Blue Angel, his Center City, Philadelphia bistro. She was promoted to Director of Restaurants and in 2000, opened Pod. [3]

With ex-husband Bryan Sikora, she opened Django on Society Hill which earned a four bell rating from Craig LaBan of The Philadelphia Inquirer. [3]

Awards and honors

The Love was named one of the best new restaurants of 2018 by Esquire (magazine) . [4]

Le Bec-Fin was a French restaurant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that first opened in 1970. Owner and founder Georges Perrier named the restaurant after the French colloquialism for "fine palate". The restaurant had been rated America's finest French restaurant, and the Mobil Travel Guide traditionally awarded it five stars. Although Perrier announced in July 2010 that he planned to close the restaurant in spring 2011, he waited until February 2012 to sell Le Bec-Fin to one of its former managers, Nicolas Fanucci, who re-opened Le Bec-Fin in June 2012. The restaurant closed for good in June 2013.

These restaurants include Alma De Cuba, Barclay Prime, Buddakan, Butcher and Singer, The Continental Mid-town, The Dandelion, El Rey, El Vez, Fette Sau, Frankford Hall, Jones, Morimoto, Parc, Pod, Serpico, Stella, Talula's Daily, Talula's Garden, and The Love in Philadelphia with Aimee Olexy. Starr has been recognized for his work, and has received awards from the James Beard Foundation among others.

Talula's Table is a small gourmet market and restaurant in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. During the day, Talula's Table is a gourmet coffee shop and market. At night, Talulas's Table turns into a restaurant containing only two tables. It is known as the hardest reservation to get in the US. With only two tables: one that seats from 8 to 12 people and a "nook table" that seats from 4 to 8 people, reservations are taken every day for one year from that date.

Melissa Perello is an American chef, she is best known for holding a Michelin star at her restaurant Frances in San Francisco. She had previously won a star at restaurant Fifth Floor, and has won awards from both Chronicles and Food & Wine magazines.

The Kensington location opened in 2014. The owners also operate Philadelphia restaurant Res Ipsa and donut shop Hello Donuts, both of which serve ReAnimator Coffee.
