Aino Kann Rasmussen (born 14 December 1937, Hellerup) [1] is a Danish archaeologist, curator and former chair of the Velux Foundation. [2]

Education and career

Rasmussen studied archaeology under Peter Glob at Aarhus University, where she participated in the Danish archaeological expedition to Bahrain. After obtaining her master's degree, she became an inspector first at the National Museum of Denmark and later Esbjerg Museum in Jutland. In 1986, she left the museum sector to work at the fine art auction house Bruun Rasmussen Kunstauktioner. [2]

Rasmussen's father was Villum Kann Rasmussen, the founder of Velux and other Danish window manufacturing companies. She served as the director and chair of the board of the Velux Foundation, the nonprofit foundation established by her father, from 1981 until 2007. [2] She also wrote a biography of her father, Ét forsøg er bedre end tusind ekspertantagelser: V. Kann Rasmussen & Co (1991). [3]

She was appointed a Knight (Ridder) of the Order of the Dannebrog in 2002. [4]

The Villum Foundation ; formerly Villum Kann Rasmussen Foundation was set up in 1971 by civil engineer Villum Kann Rasmussen (1909–1993). 10 years later, he set up the Velux Foundation. Rasmussen was the founder of VELUX and Velfac, Danish window companies. Both foundations are part of VKR Holding A/S, owned by the Rasmussen family and the Villum Foundation, which is the main shareholder.

Dorte Marianne Bennedsen was a Danish theologian and politician of the Social Democrats. She served as the Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs between October 1971 and December 1973 and was the Minister of Education from January 1979 to September 1982. Bennedsen was Holmen Church's auxiliary pastor from 1965 to 1968 and was chair of the Danish Association for Nordic Collaboration between 1984 and 1999. Aase Olesen was a Danish politician for the Danish Social Liberal Party and teacher. She worked as a teacher at Hørsholm Municipal School before joining the Danish Social Liberal Party in 1967. Olesen was elected to the Folketing from October 1974 to December 1990 and was appointed Minister of Social Affairs in the government of Poul Schlüter between June 1988 and December 1990.
