Aishwarya Pissay (born 14 August 1995) is an Indian circuit and off-road motorcycle racer. She has become the first-ever Indian motorsports athlete to win a world title. The TVS talent participated at the FIM Bajas World Cup and secured the 1st place in the women's category and 2nd in the junior's category. She is the first Indian woman to win 7 FMSCI National titles, including 6 consecutive Indian National Rally Championship in two-wheelers from 2017. [1] She started with Circuit Racing winning Honda one-make and TVS one-make titles and went on to win multiple Indian National Rally Championship (INRC - 2w) titles before moving to bigger cross-country rallies.

She found her passion in racing as she turned 18, while taking small road trips around her home town of Bengaluru, consequently learning how to master the art of riding a bike. This hobby grew into a profession as she won National titles in both Road Racing and Rally Championships. She won INRC consecutively from 2017 to 2022. [2] [3] She also became the first Indian woman to compete in the Baja Aragon World Rally in Spain held in 2018. [4]

Career

2016

Aishwarya graduated from Apex Racing Academy and won the Honda One Make Championship. She secured 5th position in the Dakshin Dare and 2nd place in the Asia Road Racing cup. She also went on to win the last round of the 2016 Indian National Rally Championship. She also won the CEAT Sprint Rally and graduated from the Apex Racing Academy in 2016, one of the first academies in India.

2017

In 2017, Aishwarya took a big step towards a professional career in motorsports by attending the California Superbike School. She won the Indian National Road Racing Championship and the Indian National Rally Championship in the same year, her first two National titles. [5] [6] Aishwarya secured 3rd place in Dakshin Dare Group - B and finished 4th in the Raid De Himalaya and was the only female rider to complete the course in the “Xtreme” category. [7] Aishwarya also won the TVS one-make Road Racing title in 2017. [8] TVS Racing signed Aishwarya Pissay on board as a factory racer in the same year. [9]

2018

In 2018, she won the Indian National Rally Championship [2] [10] and competed in the Baja Aragon rally, where she crashed on the final day of the event forcing her to retire from the event. [11]

Awards

Aishwarya received the TiE Young Achiever of the Year award in 2016 [12] and also received the Outstanding Women in Motorsports Award by FMSCI in 2016. [13] She received the Outstanding Women in Motorsports Award by FMSCI for the 2nd consecutive year in 2017 and also the Sports Women of the Year Award by Autotrack Magazine. [14]

Arun Muthukrishnan. He started his career in motorcycle racing with a burning passion for the sport. He has finished 2nd in the 2012 SIDVIN MMSC-FMSCI Indian national motorcycle championship and 3rd in the Yamaha one make championship 2012. Arun Muthukrishnan has also represented India in the 2012 Yamaha ASEAN cup held in Philippines.

Red Rooster Racing is an Indian Motorsports team which took part in rallying and racing events for three years from 2008 to 2010. Its parent company Red Rooster Performance's goal is to build the market for performance motoring in India. Quoting lack of sponsors, the team withdrew from the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) before the start of the 2011 season. Of the three years in rallying, Red Rooster Racing' won the championship twice in 2008 and 2010. Red Rooster teams, Vikram Mathias and co-driver PVS Murthy won INRC 2008 while VR Naren Kumar won the title in 2010 along with co-driver Ram Kumar.

Jagan Kumar is an Indian professional motorcycle racer who won ten Indian National motorcycle racing championships in the 165cc class. He races for Petronas TVS Racing team. in the fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championships. In February 2022, he won after taking the third place in the 8th of the 9-race, five round 2021 Championship which was extended to 2022 due to COVID-19.

Syed Asif Ali is a Bhopal based rider who competes with TVS Racing, the first factory racing team in India with a legacy of over 35 years. He has been associated with TVS Racing for over four years now and under the banner has won the Indian National Rally Championship 2W organised by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India back to back in 2015 and 2016. Additionally, he also won the treacherous Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally and the Dakshin Dare Rally astride a TVS Wego in 2016. He secured the third place in the Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally 2017 by completing the rally in 25.44 seconds.

Harith Noah is a professional motorsports athlete from Shoranur in Kerala, India. He represents India in international cross country rallies such as the Dakar Rally. He is also the second rider from India to finish Dakar rally successfully after C.S. Santosh and is also the fastest.

Aravind KP is an Indian professional motor racer. Since then, he has won more than 17 events in different motorsports disciplines like Dirt track, two-wheeler rallies and motocross and supercross events, and also had one international trophy. Aravind biggest victory on Indian soil came in 2015 when he tasted victory at the Raid De Himalaya, considered as the toughest terrain at high altitude. He participated in Dakar Rally thrice. In the 2019 Dakar Rally he finished 37th position becoming the only Indian to finish the rally that year and 2nd Indian overall to finish the rally over the years. Yuva Kumar is an Indian Motorcycle Rally Racer/Pilot. He was born in Chittor, Andhra Pradesh and raised in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He did his schooling and college education in Bangalore and Mysore.

Nikhil Vittal Pai is an Indian rally co-driver who won the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) for four-wheelers twice in 2016 and 2022. He is one of the most-experienced co-drivers currently taking part in INRC for four-wheelers from 1992.

Arjun Balu is an Indian motorsports driver. After starting as a road racing driver in 1992, he took part in the Indian National Rally Championship for 17 years. Chandra Kumar Chinnappa born in Bangalore is an Indian motorsports athlete and administrator. He is a racing driver and a rally co-driver. Chinnappa took part in Indian National bike races in various disciplines like rallies, autocross, motocross, hill climb and drag meets, and in later years he became a regular four-wheeler rally co-driver in the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) for an overall career spanning 34 active years as a competitor. Now he continues as a senior steward of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

Karnataka Motor Sports Club, popularly known as KMSC, is a state association for promoting and conducting motorsports in the Indian state of Karnataka. The club is based in Bengaluru. It is a founder member of the Federation of Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI), the governing body for motor sports in India. It is one of the oldest ‘active’ motorsports clubs in India. It holds the record of organising the Karnataka 1000 rally continuously for the last 48 years.
