The Akron Zips women's basketball team represents the University of Akron in women's basketball. The school competes in the Mid-American Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Zips play home basketball games at the James A. Rhodes Arena in Akron, Ohio.

Season-by-season record

As of the 2015–16 season, the Zips are 434–713 in 42 years of play. They have won one MAC title, in 2014 (after finishing as runner up the previous year), which is also their only appearance in the NCAA Tournament. As a 13 seed, they lost to #5 Purdue 84–55. They have reached the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) in 1999, 2013, 2015 along an appearance in the Women's Basketball Invitational in 2010.^[2]

The team was founded in 1913 and played their first intercollegiate game in January 1915. They joined the Mid-American Conference in 1951 and have played in the East division since the MAC went to the divisional format in 1997. Home games are held at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center, which opened in 1950 and is one of the oldest arenas in college basketball. Rob Senderoff was hired as head coach in 2011, the 24th coach in the program's history.

They finished the season 19–14, 11–7 in MAC play to finish in second place in the East Division. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the MAC women's tournament where they lost to Buffalo. They were invited to the Women's National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to Bucknell.

American Eagles women's basketball team represents American University and plays its home games at Bender Arena in Washington D.C. It competes as part of the Patriot League in NCAA Division I. In 2015, it received its first ever bid in the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament as a 14 seed after a 28–4 record and their first ever Patriot League tournament championship. They lost to #3 Iowa 75–67 in the First Round.

They finished the season 9–21, 3–15 in MAC play to finish in a tie for last place in the East Division. They lost in the first round of the MAC women's tournament to Ohio.

The 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer championship game was the final game of the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament, determining the national champion for the 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The match was played on December 9, 2018 at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, California, a soccer-specific stadium that is home to UC Santa Barbara Gauchos men's and women's soccer programs.

They finished the season 16–15, 7–11 in MAC play, to finish in fifth place in the East Division. They lost in the first round of the MAC women's tournament to Eastern Washington. They received an invite to the WBI where they lost in the first round to Tennessee Tech.
