Aksana Gataullina (born 17 July 2000) is a Russian pole vaulter. [1] [2] [3] She competed as an authorised neutral athlete in the pole vault events of 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships, [4] [5] [6] 2018 Russian Athletics Championships and 2019 European Athletics U20 Championship. [7] [8] She is the daughter of Olympic silver medalist Rodion Gataullin. [9]

Yelena Gadzhievna Isinbayeva is a Russian former pole vaulter. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, a three-time World Champion, the current world record holder in the event, and is widely considered the greatest female pole-vaulter of all time. Isinbayeva was banned from the 2016 Rio Olympics after the appearance of an independent report about an extensive state-sponsored doping programme in Russia, thus dashing her hopes of a grand retirement winning the Olympic gold medal. She retired from athletics in August 2016 after being elected to serve an 8-year term on the IOC's Athletes' Commission.

World Athletics U20 Championships

The World Athletics U20 Championships is a biennial world championships for the sport of athletics organised by the World Athletics, contested by athletes in the under-20 athletics age category (19 years old or younger on 31 December in the year of the competition.

Elizaveta Ryzih is a German pole vault athlete. Two times an Olympian, she was 6th in London and 10th in Rio Olympic games. She was described by one athletics commentator as a "tall, fast and athletic" pole vaulter, and she has seen good success in European Championships as well as being a constant presence in the world yearly rankings of pole vaulters, placing among the top 10 vaulters in recent years.

Ramil Guliyev

Ramil Guliyev is an Azerbaijani-born naturalized Turkish sprinter. He competes in the 100 metres and 200 metres events. At the 2017 World Championships, Guliyev became World Champion in the men's 200 metre race, winning Turkey's first ever gold medal in the World Championships. His club is Fenerbahçe Athletics. In 2018, he won the gold medal in the 200 m event at the European Championships.

Holly Bradshaw British pole vaulter

Holly Bethan Bradshaw is a British track and field athlete who specialises in the pole vault. She is the current British record holder in the event indoors and outdoors, with clearances of 4.87 metres and 4.81 metres. She won a bronze medal at the 2012 World Indoor Championships, a gold medal at the 2013 European Indoor Championships, a bronze medal at the 2018 European Championships, and a silver medal at the 2019 European Indoor Championships. She also won at the 2018 Athletics World Cup. Coached by Scott Simpson, she has been consistently ranked among the world's best and has been ranked in the world top ten on the Track and Field News merit rankings four times.

2017 World Championships in Athletics

The 2017 IAAF World Championships, the sixteenth edition of the IAAF World Championships, were held from 4 to 13 August at London Stadium in London, UK. London was officially awarded the championships on 11 November 2011.

2018 European Athletics Championships

The 2018 European Athletics Championships were held in Berlin, Germany, from 6 to 12 August 2018. The championships were part of the first European Championships with other events happening in the United Kingdom.

2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships Athletics competition

The 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships was the seventeenth edition of the biennial, global athletics competition organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), since renamed World Athletics. It was held between 27 September and 6 October 2019 in Doha, Qatar, at the renovated multi-purpose Khalifa International Stadium, but reduced to 21,000 available seats. 1,772 athletes from 206 teams competed in 49 athletics events over the ten-day competition, comprising 24 events each for men and women, plus a mixed relay. There were 43 track and field events, 4 racewalking events, and 2 marathon road running events. The racewalking and marathon events were held in Doha Corniche.

2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships

The 17th IAAF World Indoor Championships was held from 1 to 4 March 2018 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. This was the city's second hosting of the event as it previously did so in 2003.

Alysha Newman Canadian pole vaulter

Alysha Newman is a Canadian track and field athlete specialized in pole vault. She is the reigning Commonwealth Games champion in the women's pole vault following the 2018 Games in the Gold Coast, where she set a new Games record of 4.75 metres (15.6 ft).

Armand Duplantis Swedish-American pole vaulter

Armand "Mondo" Duplantis is an American-born Swedish pole vaulter and the current world record holder with a height of 6.18 metres. Duplantis won gold as a 15-year-old in the boys' pole vault at the 2015 World Youth Championships and holds a number of age group world bests. He won the gold medal at the 2018 European Championships with a height of 6.05 metres, and the silver medal at the 2019 World Championships. Duplantis has also won the 2020 Diamond League and the 2021 European Indoor Championships, setting Championship Bests at both.

2018 IAAF World U20 Championships

The 2018 World U20 Championships in Athletics, also known as the World Junior Championships, are an international athletics competition for athletes qualifying as juniors taking place at Tampere Stadium in Tampere, Finland on 10–15 July 2018. The championships were originally awarded to Tampere by the IAAF in March, 2016.

Russia at the World Athletics Championships Sporting event delegation

Russia competed at every edition of the IAAF World Championships in Athletics 1993 to the 2017 World Championships, from which its athletes have been banned from competing as Russian. In order for Russian nationals to compete at the World Athletics Championship, they must be approved as authorised neutral athletes by the IAAF. Prior to 1993, Russian athletes competed for the Soviet Union. Russia has the second-highest medal total among nations at the competition (153), after the United States. At 47 gold medals, it holds the third-highest total after the United States and Kenya. It has had the most success in women's events and in field events. As a major nation in the sport of athletics, it typically sent a delegation numbering over 100 athletes.
