Akwa Ibom State Christmas Village is an annual holiday market event in Unity Park, Udo Udoma Avenue in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. [1] [2]
It is usually set up in December and terminates around early January. The festival inclises activities ranging from presentations from dance groups, service of different delicacies, and networking by fun-seeking lovers. [3]
The Christmas Village was inaugurated by Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2020, and since then, it has been a place of activities for the indigenes and visitors during the festive period. [4]
Recently, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno included Happy Hour Freebies to the Christmas celebration at the park, and changed the name from Christmas Village to Christmas Park. [5] [6]
The Governor of the State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno hosted the 2023 Christmas Carol festival in the Christmas Park. [7]

Oron Museum is a museum in Oron, Nigeria. The museum was established in 1958 to accommodate eight hundred known ancestral figures of the Oron people which are believed to be among the oldest and finest surviving wood carvings in Africa. During the civil war, many of the wood carvings were looted and the museum was damaged. In 1975, the museum was reinaugurated and today houses the remains of the wooden sculptures and other ethnographic materials from across Nigeria. The museum also has displays of bunkers used during the civil war as well as a crafts village.

The contract for the construction of the Akwa Ibom International Stadium complex and Games Village was awarded in 2012 to Julius Berger and was completed in 2014. The 30,000 seater ultra modern multipurpose sports complex was modeled after Allianz Arena.
