Akwaaba Music is a label and agency based in Accra, Ghana. The label distributes some of Ghana's biggest artists, including Joey B, EL, D-Black, Ruff N Smooth, Edem, DJ Breezy, as well as successful independent artists such as the FOKN Bois, Art Melody, Aero Manyelo, Rocky Marsiano and other artists from 19 African countries. Akwaaba Music was founded in California in 2008 by Benjamin Lebrave. [6] He created the company to make contemporary Ghanaian music accessible beyond Ghana's borders, by making it available on all major online music services, and by promoting it to global audiences. With time the company's services have grown to incorporate content production, digital distribution, marketing and licensing. [7]

In 2011 Lebrave settled in Accra, Ghana, again developing the scope of Akwaaba Music's services by expanding into event production, by creating the sister company Akwaaba Selector, aimed at providing music to venues and corporate partners. [8]

In 2017, he was awarded best DJ at the 2017 Ghana entertainment awards. In 2018, he founded and launched the "DJ Mensah Foundation and touched lives of young ones at the borstal home in Accra. Oluwatosin Ajibade, better known by his stage name Mr Eazi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record executive. He is the pioneer of Banku music, a fusion of sound he describes as a mixture of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and patterns. Mr Eazi relocated to Kumasi in 2008 and enrolled at KNUST, where he began booking artists to perform at college parties. He showed interest in music after recording a guest verse on "My Life", a song that gained traction and became a popular record at KNUST. Mr Eazi released his debut mixtape About to Blow in 2013. Free The Youth is a crew of fashion entrepreneurs in Ghana formed in the year 2013 by Jonathan Coffie, Winfred Mensah, Richard Ormano and Kelly Foli. As the purpose of their initiative was well understood by their fellows, their initiative has grown to become a good brand across the globe. There are now of ten key players in the streetwear industry in addition to the founders. Among the ten key players are; photographer Philip N. Boakye, Design Advisor Mecha Clarke, NGO managers Asia Clarke and Sunshine Duncan, producer Prince Brefo and production lead Gilbert Quansah. Due to their rapid growth in the street wear revolution in Ghana, they have been rated alongside some African labels such as: Casablanca from Morocco, Modus Vivendii from Nigeria, OH OK from South Africa, Suave from Kenya, Daniks Peters from Ghana, Vieg Yuro from Angola and Amna Elshandaweely from Egypt. Their initial goal was to simply showcase some Ghanaian street-wear via social media. Their initiative has been developed into a two-pronged entity, the brand and the NGO. Both lend to the grand goal of making it possible for art-based, youth-oriented, sustainable programming.

Ronald Banful, known professionally as GuiltyBeatz, is a Ghanaian DJ and record producer. Born in Palermo, Italy, GuiltyBeatz first gained prominence as a music producer after his production on "Bad girl" by Jesse Jagz ft. Wizkid, "Sample You" by Mr. Eazi and his hit "Akwaaba" featuring Mr. Eazi, Pappy Kojo & Patapaa.

The 22nd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was held on the 25th and 26th days of June, 2021 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra to recognize the works of artists in the year under review. It was broadcast by TV3 locally in Ghana and Akwaaba Magic outside Ghana, both accessible outside Ghana via DStv and GOtv.

The Ghana DJ Awards are an annual award ceremony for DJs in Ghana. They were created with the aim to recognize and honour DJs, and individuals who have influenced electronic dance music in Ghana, as well as to foster the development of the Ghana music industry by rewarding and celebrating radio, mobile and club DJs who have excelled in their fields of endeavor.

Nana Kwame Appiasei known professionally as Smallgod, is a Ghanaian music entrepreneur, culture and streetwear connoisseur for years who has finally taking a leap of faith to be an artist. His contributions to the Ghanaian music industry have earned him numerous accolades, the most prominent being, 'Abonten Father.
