He is Fellow of Royal Society (London), Life Fellow of Kings College, Cambridge University, UK, Academician Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor Emeritus at University of Karachi.
The Sitara-e-Imtiaz also spelled as Sitara-i-Imtiaz, is the third-highest honour and civilian award in the State of Pakistan. It recognizes individuals who have made an "especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of Pakistan, world peace, cultural or other significant public endeavours".
Kaleem SaadatNI(M) HI(M) SI(M) TI(M) LoH is a retired four-star air officer in the Pakistan Air Force who served as the Chief of Air Staff from 18 March 2003 until retiring on 20 March 2006. His appointment came after an air crash that killed Air Chief Marshal Mushaf Ali Mir, the air chief, along with several other high-ranking Air Force officers on 19 February 2003. Alizeh Imtiaz is the a Pakistani filmmaker. She's the first Pakistani to have successfully had a debut short film screened at the London Filmmakers Convention. The short film won the award for Best Film at the London Filmmakers Convention and was also screened at the London Portobello Film Festival in August 2008. She is one of the youngest directors in Pakistan, and one of the very few to have gained international acclaim.

In 2024, he was awarded with the President's Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his contribution towards the Pakistani cinema.
