Al Kadhimiya is a sports club that is based in the Al Kadhimiya district in Iraq. Its football team currently plays in the Iraq Division One, [1] the second tier of Iraqi football. Al-Kadhimiya participated in the Iraqi Premier League on six previous occasions.

Saad Abdul-Amir Luaibi Al-Zirjawi is an Iraqi defensive midfielder who plays for Al-Zawraa and for the Iraq national football team which he earned his first cap in 2010 at the age of 18. Saad started his career in his hometown club Al-Karkh SC. In 2010, he transferred to Northern Iraqi side Erbil SC, spending 5 years at the club where he won the 2011–12 Iraqi Premier League. In 2015, he made his first move abroad, signing for Saudi side Al-Qadisiyah. He moved to Al-Shabab in 2017.

Tourism in Iraq refers to tourism in the Western Asian country Iraq. Iraq was one of the main destinations for many years, however it changed dramatically due to conflicts. The tourism in Iraq has faced many challenges, however, in recent years there has been improvements. The capital city Baghdad is the second largest city in the Arab world and the 4th largest in the Middle East. Iraq has several World Heritage Sites, dating back to ancient Mesopotamia, most notably Babylon Iraq. Iraq is considered to be a potential location for ecotourism. Erbil was chosen as "Arab Tourism Capital" in 2014 by the Arab Tourism Committee.

The 2001–02 season, covering the period from 22 September 2001 to 17 May 2002, was Al-Talaba Sport Club's 27th consecutive season in the Iraqi Elite League, top-flight of Iraqi football. Having finished in 4th place in the previous season, Al-Talaba competed in the Iraqi Elite League, the Iraq FA Cup and the Iraqi Elite Cup.

The 2016–17 Iraq FA Cup was the 29th edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football. A total of 19 teams from the Iraqi Premier League and 41 teams from the Iraq Division One participated. It started on 2 December 2016 and the final was played at Al-Sinaa Stadium in Baghdad on 22 August 2017. It was the second Iraq FA Cup final to be held outside Al-Shaab Stadium, with the first being in 2003.

The 2019–20 Iraq FA Cup was the 31st edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football, featuring a total of 20 teams from the Iraqi Premier League and 48 teams from the Iraq Division One and Iraq Division Two. The tournament started on 12 September 2019, but was cancelled during the Round of 32 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abdul Karim Abdul Hussein al-Azri is an Iraqi politician born in Kadhimiya in 1908, and died in London at the age of 100.

The 2020–21 Iraq FA Cup was the 32nd edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football, featuring 126 teams. It started on 20 October 2020 and the final was played on 19 July 2021 at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad.
