Alan Dymock (born 24 May 1987 in Dundee, Scotland) is a Scottish rugby union journalist. He was previously a player for Glasgow Warriors, Edinburgh, Dundee HSFP and Heriots. He played at an international level for Scotland Club XV. He played as a Prop. [1]
Dymock started playing at Dundee HSFP with his brothers Neil, also a prop, and Andy, a scrum half. His father Tom was a past president and former coach at the club. [2]
In 2008, he moved to Heriot's. [3]
He has also played rugby in Dubai, Canada and Germany. [4]
He was signed for Edinburgh Rugby's academy system in 2006. [5] [6] [7]
He moved to Glasgow Warriors academy system in 2007; one of twelve Glasgow academy players that season. [8] He turned out for the Warriors in their pre-season game of 2007–08, against Leeds Carnegie. The Warriors won the match 19 - 6. [9]
Dymock played for Scotland at Under 19 grade. [10] [11]
While with Edinburgh academy he played for the Scotland U20 side against Glasgow Warriors on 13 November 2006 at Meggetland. [12]
He also played for the Scotland U20 side in January 2007 against his own Edinburgh side. [13]
He followed the Glasgow and Edinburgh matches with a match against England U20 at the Recreation Ground in Bath. England won 31 - 5. [14]
Dymock played for Scotland Club XV at international level. [15] He last played for international side in 2012. [16] 2013 was the first time in 5 years that no Dymock - either Alan or his brothers - made the Club XV side. [17]
He studied journalism at Goldsmith College at the University of London, completing a master's degree. [18]
He was a freelance writer for The Scotsman newspaper from 2012 to 2013. [19]
Dymock joined the magazine Rugby World in 2013. He started as a features writer. [20]
In February 2016 he was named Rugby Journalist of the Year at the British Sports Journalism Awards. [18]

Alan Brown is a former Scotland Club XV international rugby union player for Glasgow Warriors, who played at the Tighthead Prop position, although he could also be used in the Back Row if necessitated. Alan also went on to be a very successful coach after his player and assistant coach days. In 2018 he moved to Strathmore RFC, and in his first season they won the league and gained promotion as well as the quarter finals of the Scottish cup. Alan then returned to Dundee rugby as head coach for the latter 2020 season. The team competes in the Scottish National League Division One.

The 2019–20 season will see Glasgow Warriors compete in the competitions: the Guinness Pro14 and the European Champions Cup. Due to the coronavirus pandemic the season was postponed in May 2020. It continued with a very restricted season finale in August 2020.
