Alazka, (stylized in all caps) formerly known as Burning Down Alaska, was a German melodic hardcore band, originally from Recklinghausen, North Rhine-Westphalia, active from 2012 till their disbandment in 2020. [1]
The band was formed in 2012 by guitarist Marvin Bruckwilder, bassist Julian Englisch, and drummer Jonas Baier under the original name 'Burning Down Alaska'. At the start of 2013, a second guitarist, Dario Sanchez, was recruited to the band and as 2013 came to a close, Tobias Rische was brought into the fold as the vocalist. [2] On February 18, 2015, the band signed a record deal with Redfield Records, and within a month they released their debut EP Values & Virtues. The song titled 'Phantoms' on the EP, features Being as an Ocean singer and guitarist Michael McGough as a featured artist. [3] Shortly afterwards, the band went on a small European tour with the American metalcore band Kingdom of Giants, which took them throughout Central Europe. [4] This was followed by appearances with The Ghost Inside and Parkway Drive, as well as appearances at the Impericon Festival in Leipzig, the Mair1 Festival, and the Full Force music festival. [5] [6] In November 2015, the band was the opening act for the Never Say Die! Tour, which was also supported by Fit for a King, Cruel Hand, Being as an Ocean, Defeater, and The Amity Affliction. [7] In May 2016, the group completed their first headlining tour along with Sailing Before The Wind in Japan. [8] Beforehand, the band played a European tour in March, accompanied by Acres and Casey. [9] In August of that year, the band performed at Summer Breeze Open Air 2016. [10] During that same year, they welcomed in an additional vocalist, Kassim Auale. [11] Also, Baier departed the band and was replaced with Tobias Lotze as the new drummer. [12]
On March 29, 2017, the band officially announced that they were changing their name to ALAZKA. They then signed with SharpTone Records and Arising Empire. During that same year, they released their first album titled "Phoenix" and headlined the Phoenix tour throughout Europe. [13]
On October 4, 2019, the single titled "Dead End" was released. Sometime after, Kassim and Dario departed from the band. In September 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the band dissolved. [14]
In 2022, ex-guitarist Marvin Bruckwilder, now being referred to as Marv Wilder, teamed up with former Time, the Valuator frontman Phil Bayer in starting a new music project under the duo name FLOYA. [15]

Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, originally a supergroup from Halmstad, formed in 1995. Its members were in bands such as Carcass, Armageddon, Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, The Agonist, Nevermore, and Eucharist. It was founded by Carcass guitarist Michael Amott along with Johan Liiva, who were both originally from the death metal band Carnage. The band has released eleven studio albums, three live albums, three video albums and four EPs. The band was originally fronted by Johan Liiva, who was replaced by German vocalist Angela Gossow in 2000. Gossow left the band in March 2014, subsequently becoming the group's manager, and was replaced by Canadian vocalist Alissa White-Gluz.
Flotsam and Jetsam is an American thrash metal band that was formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1981. Before settling on its current name in 1984, the band had existed under three different names, Paradox, Dredlox and Dogz. Their current lineup includes vocalist Eric "A.K" Knutson, guitarists Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley, bassist Bill Bodily, and drummer Ken Mary. Flotsam and Jetsam went through several lineup changes over the years, leaving Knutson as the only constant member. They are also notable for featuring a then-unknown Jason Newsted, who was Flotsam and Jetsam's bassist from 1981 to 1986, when he left the band shortly after the release of their debut album to join Metallica.

Edguy is a German power metal band formed in 1992 in Fulda by students Tobias Sammet, Jens Ludwig, Dominik Storch, and Dirk Sauer. Initially named after their math teacher, the band faced early rejections from record labels but persevered, releasing their unofficial debut album, Savage Poetry, in 1995. They gained wider recognition with their subsequent albums, including Kingdom of Madness (1997) and Vain Glory Opera (1998), featuring guest appearances from notable musicians. Over the years, Edguy has evolved their sound, with Sammet also launching the successful metal opera project Avantasia. The band has released multiple studio albums, including Age of the Joker (2011) and Space Police: Defenders of the Crown (2014), and has engaged in extensive touring. As of March 2020, Edguy is on hiatus while Sammet focuses on new Avantasia material.
Heaven Shall Burn is a German extreme metal band from Saalfeld, formed in 1995. The band consists of vocalist Marcus Bischoff, guitarists Maik Weichert and Alexander Dietz, bassist Eric Bischoff and drummer Christian Bass. They are currently signed to Century Media. They have released eight studio albums, as well as a number of other records. One of their albums, Veto, entered the German album charts at number 2 in 2013, with their latest, Of Truth and Sacrifice, reaching number 1.

We Butter the Bread with Butter is a German metalcore band noted for their heavy use of electronic music characteristics. The group was founded in 2007 by guitarist Marcel Neumann and vocalist Tobias Schultka. Later, they were signed to Redfield Records, and released two albums through the label. Their debut album Das Monster aus dem Schrank was released on 21 November 2008. Their second album, Der Tag an dem die Welt unterging was released on 14 May 2010, followed on 19 December 2012 by an EP titled Projekt Herz. Their third studio album, Goldkinder, was released on 9 August 2013, and a fourth album, Wieder geil!, was released on 22 May 2015. In Late 2019, Schultka rejoined the band after 9 years away, and the band went back to being the original duo of Schultka and Neumann. On 24 September 2021 they released their 5th studio album, Das Album. It is their first album as a duo in 11 years.

The band ceased to perform live or release new music by 2019, but reunited in November 2024 for a 20th anniversary show at Corefest in Stuttgart, Germany.
Betraying the Martyrs were a French metalcore band formed in Paris in 2008. The band's final lineup consisted of vocalist Rui Martins, guitarists Steeves Hostin and Baptiste Vigier, bassist Valentin Hauser, drummer Boris le Gal, and keyboardist Victor Guillet. At the time of their breakup in 2023, they were signed to Out of Line Music. Through their previous label, Sumerian Records, Betraying the Martyrs released four studio albums: Breathe in Life (2011), Phantom (2014), The Resilient (2017), and Rapture (2019). They also released two EPs: The Hurt the Divine the Light (2009) and Silver Lining (2022).
