Aled Hall (Jones) is a Welsh operatic tenor from Pencader, Carmarthenshire, Wales. He is currently a member of the Three Welsh Tenors with Rhys Meirion and Aled Wyn Davies. [1]
Aled Hall was born in 1968 and raised in West Wales, living on a farm when he started singing at the age of four in the local chapel. He went on to win several eisteddfod competitions, including the prestigious W. Towyn Roberts Scholarship at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in 1994. [2] He was educated at Ysgol Ramadeg Llandysul before progressing to study music at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, the London Royal Schools’ Faculty Opera School, and at the National Opera Studio, London.
He has performed over the world in principal operatic roles, including Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro for Aix-en-Provence, Tokyo, and Baden Baden, Mr. Upfold in Albert Herring at the Salzburger Landestheater, Ippia in Saffo , Danilowitz in L’Etoile du Nord at the Wexford Festival, both of which were recorded on the Marco Polo label, Spoletta in Tosca and Remendado Carmen for Raymond Gubbay at the Royal Albert Hall, and Don Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro, Bardolfo in Falstaff and Frisellino in Le Pescatrici for Garsington Opera. Sir Bryn Terfel Jones, is a Welsh bass-baritone opera and concert singer. Terfel was initially associated with the roles of Mozart, particularly Figaro, Leporello and Don Giovanni, but has subsequently shifted his attention to heavier roles, especially those by Puccini and Wagner.
Robert Tear, CBE was a Welsh tenor singer, teacher and conductor. He first became known singing in the operas of Benjamin Britten in the mid-1960s. From the 1970s until his retirement in 1999 his main operatic base was the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden; he appeared with other opera companies in the UK, mainland Europe, the US and Australia. Generally avoiding the Italian repertoire, which did not suit his voice, Tear became known in leading and character roles in German, British and Russian operas.

John Rhys Evans was a Welsh baritone noted for operatic roles including the leading man in the Merry Widow, the King in The Vagabond King, Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro; Don Carlos in Ernani, and leading roles in L'elisir d'amore, Madame Butterfly, I Pagliacci, La Boheme, The Gypsy Baron, Carmen, Die Fledermaus and Don Giovanni. He sang more than 40 different roles in the course of his career, which lasted from his first public appearance in 1953 to 1994. He sang as a soloist at the Investiture of the Prince of Wales at Caernarvon Castle in 1969.
Lisa Milne is a Scottish soprano described by the BBC as "one of RSAMD's best-known alumni", who was among the first artists to be invited to the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme in 1999-2001.
