Enrique Domingo Cadícamo was a prolific Argentine tango lyricist, poet and novelist. From an initial Symbolist bent, he developed a distinctive, lunfardo-rich style from an early age, and by 1925 he had his first piece, Pompas de jabón, sung by Carlos Gardel. Francisco Ulloa is a famous merengue accordionist, specializing in merengue típico. He is known for his skill and improvisation technique on the accordion, and started his career around the same time as Tatico Henriquez, which some consider to be the godfather of merengue tipico, in the 1970s. He currently resides in Santiago, Dominican Republic. He plays at private festivals, concert halls at home, and also those abroad. His sound would be considered more similar to Fefita la Grande or Agapito Pascual rather than El Prodigio or Grupo Aguakate.

Alejandro de Vivar (1635–1660), better known as Mestizo Alejo, was a Chilean mestizo, who fought in the Arauco War. He was the son of the Mapuche cacique Curivilú and the Spanish Isabel de Vivar y Castro who was captured during a Mapuche raid. Isabel and Alejo were rescued five years later and rejoined the Spanish society. Alejo enlisted the Spanish army, but the system of castas prevented his promotion. As a result, he deserted from the Spanish army and joined the Mapuches, being appointed toqui. Instructed in Spanish military strategy, he posed a serious threat to his former masters, but he died in a crime of passion: after he had sex with a captured Spanish woman his two wives murdered him.
Luis Barbero Fernández was a Spanish actor. He appeared in more than 150 films and television shows between 1957 and 2001. In 2000, he was awarded with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Spanish Actors Union. He died of a heart attack in 2005.

Barbarito Díez was a Cuban singer who specialized in danzón. He began his career as the singer for Graciano Gómez and Isaac Oviedo's son group, before joining Antonio María Romeu's orchestra. As the lead vocalist for Romeu's ensemble for 20 years, he established himself as one of the main exponents of the sung danzón. He continued singing with his own charanga, as well as other groups, for another 30 years. He also toured and recorded in Venezuela and Puerto Rico before retiring in the early 1990s, when complications from diabetes prevented him from performing and eventually resulted in his death in 1995. A naturally-gifted tenor, he was known for his sense of rhythm, correct diction and romantic style.
Eduardo Alfredo Sacheri is an Argentine writer and professor of History, graduated in the National University of Luján. He is best known for his novel La pregunta de sus ojos which became the basis for the Oscar-winning film El secreto de sus ojos and its American remake. Sacheri co-wrote the film's script in collaboration with its director Juan Jose Campanella. Sacheri and Campanella were also the screenwriters of the animation film Underdogs.
