Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti is a region (mkhare) in northwestern Georgia with a population of 28,500 (2021), making it the most sparsely populated region in the country. It has a nominal area of 4,954 km2 (1,913 sq mi), of which 4,600 km2 (1,800 sq mi) is de facto controlled by Georgia. The remainder is effectively under South Ossetian control. The region has Ambrolauri as its administrative center and Parmen Margvelidze is governor of the region since June 2021. Senaki is a town in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, western Georgia. It is located at around 42°16′8″N42°4′45″E between the rivers Tekhura/i and Tsivi, at an elevation of 28–38 meters above sea level. Senaki is the center of the Senaki Municipality and serves as a residence of Metropolitans of Senaki and Ckhorotskhu Eparchy of the Georgian Apostolic Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

Ganarjiis Mukhuri is a village in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region of western Georgia, in the Zugdidi municipality. It is situated at the border with Abkhazia and the city of Zugdidi. The village area is located by the Black Sea and on the right bank of the Enguri River, with the village center six kilometers from the sea. Within the administrative division of the municipality, Ganmukhuri is not part of a community, but is an so called independent village.

Zugdidi is a Municipality of Georgia, in the region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Zugdidi Municipality is located in the central part of western Georgia. Its western border follows the Black Sea coast, the administrative strip of Abkhazia in the northwest, Tsalenjikha Municipality in the north and northeast, and it borders Chkhorotsqu Municipality and Khobi Municipality to the south. Zugdidi is the administrative center of both Zugdidi Municipality and Samegrelo Zemo-Svaneti region. Between 2014 and 2017 the city of Zugdidi was separated from the municipality and was a so-called "self-governed" city, but this administrative and governance reform was deemed too inefficient and expensive.

Martvili is a district of Georgia, in the region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Its main town is Martvili. Martvili Municipality is located in the north-eastern part of western Georgia. It is bordered by Lentekhi in the north, Khoni and Tsageri in the east, Abasha in the south, Senaki and Chkhorotsku in the west. The southern part of the Martvili area is occupied by a lowland that rises from southwest to northeast from 60 to 170 meters. The highest place, the headwaters of Tekhuri is located at 3003 meters above sea level. To the south-west of the municipality is the Askha Mountain Range, which is rich in karst caves, waterfalls, mineral deposits and limestone. The mountains of Lebarde, Chekola and Dviri are rich in healing mineral waters.
