The Chicago based trio Alert312 is made up by 3 musical brothers who have channeled their eclectic roots and faith to craft genuine sonic and visual art. Now in their 3rd season of creative endeavors, the music is mature and expresses the mash up of culture that continues to influence their sound. Authentic live performance is their muse. Faith in Christ is core to their creative motivation. A percussive core drives their energy. Live analogue recording blankets their sound. All three members – Esteban Shedd // "EB" (MC), Aaron Lopez // "MRL ONE" (DRUMMER/DJ/PRODUCER) & Loren La Luz // "Lolo" ( PERCUSSIONIST) touch multiple instruments to mash their sonic offerings together – a mofongo of heart, soul and lyrical depth. These are the ingredients of their sound – street funk, progressive Hip Hop yet unashamedly Golden era and ethnic. Experience the live set, grab the sounds, peep their heart. Background

The Christian hip hop duo of MC Boogalu, whose name is Esteban Paul Shedd (born April 4, 1983), [1] [2] and DJ Moral One, whose name is Aaron Daniel Lopez (born February 25, 1983), [3] [4] met while they were students at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, where they both graduated in 2006, [5] eventually forming the duo in 2009. [6] The duo started out as Alert, yet changed their name to Alert312 to make their music easily identifiable, with the 312 part of their name taken from the local telephone area code. [7] [8] They run a ministry in Chicago called Streetlights to facilitate literacy development while instilling and infusing biblical values alongside. [5] This ministry is part of a greater organization, GRIP Outreach for Youth, where Shedd is a project director, [9] and Lopez is an assistant manager. [10] Shedd is married and has a son, and all three are members of Armitage Baptist Church. [9] Lopez is married to Susana, and both are members of New Life Community Church in Near West Side (Tri-Taylor). [10]

Music history

Their music recording career started with the release of two independently-made studio albums, Alert, on January 11, 2009, and, Indian Colors, on September 1, 2010. The next three releases occurred through Humble Beast Records. Red Opus .45, an extended play, their last release as Alert, [11] [12] was released on April 5, 2011. Of Vice & Virtue, a studio album, was released on January 29, 2013. [13] [14] Another extended play, Singular Vision, came out on July 1, 2014. [15] Alert 312's latest release, The Upside Eternal, a studio album, was on October 30, 2015, through their own, newly created label HiFi Native Records. [16] [17]

Collaborating as a duo, rapper Talib Kweli and DJ and hip hop producer Hi-Tek recorded the album during 1999 to 2000, following their individual musical work that gained notice in New York's underground scene during the late 1990s. Kweli had previously worked with rapper Mos Def as the duo Black Star, and Hi-Tek had served as producer on the duo's debut album.

Beautiful Eulogy is a Christian experimental hip hop group and production team from Portland, Oregon, signed to the label Humble Beast. Composed of rappers Braille and Odd Thomas and producer Courtland Urbano, the group coalesced in 2011 while the three artists were involved in the creation of Braille's seventh release, Native Lungs. Known for its experimental and eclectic sound, the group melds myriad styles of hip hop with genres such as folk, electronic, hymn tunes, and modern worship music. After contributing a song to the charity compilation King Kulture and making a guest appearance on Lecrae's Church Clothes, the band released its debut album, Satellite Kite, on June 19, 2012. A second album, Instruments of Mercy, came out on October 29, 2013. Called one of the most innovative hip hop groups in Portland, Beautiful Eulogy has met with critical acclaim, with particular praise directed at the group's creative, unconventional sound and deep theological lyrics.

The influence and impact of hip hop was originally shaped from African American and Latino communities in the South Bronx. In the last several decades, the movement has become a worldwide phenomenon which transcends different cultural boundaries as it reaches several ethnic groups, including Asian Americans. Asian American hip-hop practitioners include: MC Jin, Lyrics Born, Dumbfoundead, Tokimonsta, and DJ Q-Bert.

Rae Sremmurd is an American hip hop duo originating from Tupelo, Mississippi, formed by brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi. The album features production from Da Internz, Southside, C-Sick and DJ Ron, among others. It features guest appearances from American rappers Lil Uzi Vert, Bump J, Lil Bibby, Lil Yachty and Jeremih, among others.

"Use This Gospel" is a song by American rapper Kanye West from his ninth studio album, Jesus Is King (2019). The song features guest appearances from hip hop duo Clipse and jazz saxophonist Kenny G. It was produced by West, Angel Lopez, DrtWrk, Frederico Vindver, and Timbaland, with co-production from BoogzDaBeast and Pi'erre Bourne. The song was recorded as a new version of the leaked track "Law of Attraction", which West came up with in a freestyle session. Clipse's feature on the song marked their reunion, after West requested for a collaboration. A gospel number with a maximalist style, it samples Two Door Cinema Club's "Costume Party" and includes a saxophone solo from Kenny G.
