Club career

Babos started his youth career at Derby County, joining the club's scholarship programme aged 15, before signing a professional contract with the club in March 2016. [1]

In August 2018, Babos joined Spanish Segunda División B club Real Unión on a season-long loan, but the loan was cut short and returned to Derby in January 2019. [2] [3]

On 24 September 2019, Babos joined Northern Premier League Premier Division club FC United of Manchester on a one-month loan. [4] During his time at Derby he was captain of the U23 side. [5] He was released by Derby in July 2020. [6] [7]

Following his release from Derby, on 9 October 2020, Babos signed for National League North club Alfreton Town following a successful trial period. [8]

On 9 April 2021, Babos joined National League club King's Lynn Town for the remainder of the season. [9] [10]

On 13 August 2021, Babos joined Southern League Premier Division Central club Banbury United. [11] [12] In June 2022, he signed a contract extension ahead of Banbury's first season in the National League North. [13]

On 25 May 2023, Babos signed for National League North club Hereford on a one-year deal. [14] [15] He scored on his debut for Hereford in a 2–2 draw on the opening day of the season against former club King's Lynn Town. [16] He made the National League North team of the week after his second match with Hereford. [17] He made the team of the week for a second time after scoring in a 3–1 home win against Curzon Ashton in October. [18] He featured in a team of the week for the third time during the season after scoring twice in a 4–1 league win away against Peterborough Sports in March. [19]

On 29 March 2024, it was announced that Babos had signed a one-year contract extension at Hereford, tying him down to the club until 2025. [20]

International career

In November 2017, Babos received his first call up to the Wales U21 squad for their two UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying fixtures, but did not feature in either match. [21] The following May he was called up again for Wales' friendly double-header against Georgia, this time winning his first caps as he started both fixtures, firstly playing the full 90 minutes before being substituted in the second. [22] [23]

He made his competitive debut for Wales U21 the following September, coming on as a second-half substitute in their UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying fixture against Liechtenstein. [24] He was called up once again for October's qualifying fixtures against Romania and Switzerland. [25]

In May 2019, he was called up for Wales' friendly double-header against Albania, starting in the first of the two fixtures. [26] [27]

He played for Oldham Athletic and spent four and a half seasons with Aberdeen before returning to England to sign for Salford City, with whom he gained promotion to the Football League. The Derbyshire County FA Senior Cup is a local county football cup for teams based in the county of Derbyshire. Founded in 1883–1884, the first competition was won by Staveley, who beat Derby Midland 2–1 in the final. 1885–1886 saw Heeley from Yorkshire win the competition.

The 2008–09 season was Derby County's 110th season in the Football League. It is their 41st season in the second division of English football and their first season in the second tier since the 2006–07 season. They were relegated from the FA Premier League in the 2007–08 season.

The 2010–11 season was Derby County's 112th season in the Football League. It was their third consecutive season in the second tier following the previous campaign and their 43rd overall. The club entered the season with odds of 25/1 for the title, the same as the previous year, 6–1 to be promoted and 8–1 to be relegated. In the event of the season, after a slow start The Rams spent five fixtures in the play-off positions after a run of 8 wins from 11 fixtures before collapsing spectacularly post-November and recording just four wins from their remaining 28 fixtures, with Championship safety not guaranteed until the 44th fixture when, despite losing 3–2 at Norwich City other results left the bottom three unable to overtake them. The club's return of 49 points was the club's lowest ever return from a 46-game programme and was their lowest points total in the second tier since 1984, when they took just 42 points from 42 fixtures. The Derbyshire evening telegraph summed up the season as being one in which "with a few exceptions, (Derby) have competed in all the games and yet too often they have come out on the wrong end of the result having been the architects of their own downfall. Mistakes, individually and collectively, carelessness and a lack of concentration have all proved costly. As well as they have played in spells, notably in a wonderful purple patch earlier this season, the bottom line is that at other times they have not been good enough, as their position in the table indicates. That is why an influx of new faces is needed in this most important of summers to make sure they move forward next season."
