Alex Carter (born 7 May 1982 in Oldham, Greater Manchester) is an English actor and writer, mostly known for his roles as Jamie Hope in Emmerdale and Lee Hunter in Hollyoaks .
Carter's brother Bruce is in a band called The Whip and both Carters attended the Blue Coat School, Oldham. [1]
A lifelong fan of Oldham Athletic A.F.C., Carter presented the Saturday afternoon sports programme Latics Live on The Revolution between 2008 and 2011.
After playing Greeny in CITV show Adam's Family Tree, in 1999 Carter was cast as Craig Harrison in Sunday evening drama Where the Heart Is . He then joined the cast of Hollyoaks as Lee Hunter, staying for four years before his character left to embark on an around the world tour.
He then joined Emmerdale on 16 February 2006 as Jamie Hope in the ITV soap Emmerdale. [2] On 8 February 2010, whilst appearing on Shaun Keaveny's breakfast show on BBC 6 Music, [3] he announced that he was leaving Emmerdale after four years. [4] On 15 March 2010 it was confirmed that after a five-year hiatus, Carter was returning to Hollyoaks. [5]
In 2011, Carter appeared in BBC Three comedy How Not to Live Your Life as Blake; Don's Boss. [6] In August 2012 he became a series regular in In with the Flynns on BBC1 as Kevin Flynn, younger brother to Will Mellor's Liam Flynn. In 2013, Carter starred in the Sky special Love Matters, written by Isy Suttie. [7] and the period ITV costume drama Downton Abbey as Walter in Series Four of the show.
In early 2015, he starred in the Comedy Central show Give Out Girls as Steve and in late 2015 he was cast as series regular PC Lino Moretti in the new BBC1 Police series Cuffs set in Brighton. In 2016, Alex joined the cast of BBC's So Awkward as form tutor Mr Malone, and in 2018 he began appearing as Ray Monk in the TV series Dark Heart, on ITV.

Ben Richards is a British stage and television actor and dancer. Richards studied dance from an early age and later took part in theatre. He gained supporting roles in London's West End and gradually filled the role of the lead. After small roles in two films, Richards began his television career with guest roles in various British serials. In 2004, he joined the regular cast of the ITV drama Footballers' Wives and after the series ended he resumed theatre work. Richards went on to secure roles in Holby City and The Bill. While working on the latter, Richards said that he would always pursue his career in theatre. After leaving the series he returned to theatre work. In 2015, he joined the cast of the soap opera Hollyoaks and finished filming the following year. He then returned to stage roles in the West End.

In April 2021, it was confirmed that she would be returning to Emmerdale. In October 2021 she had a sequel to her first book published called "Rosemary and the Book of the Dead". Giles describes her beliefs as Wiccan.

Lee Hunter is a fictional character from the British soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Alex Carter. The character made his first on-screen appearance on 5 July 2001. Lee was introduced as part of the show's new family, the Hunters. He is the youngest son of Les and Sally Hunter. Lee is characterised as "wayward", a "cheeky chap" and a "wheeler dealer". Carter announced his decision to quit the serial in 2005 to have more free time, filming his departure scenes in October 2005 and departed on-screen 23 December 2005.
