Alexander Nazir Esmail (born 18 July 1993) [1] is a British actor, and former wrestler. [2] He is known for his role in the film Attack the Block (2011). [3] [4] [5]

Career

After making his debut in multi-award-winning fantasy film Attack the Block in 2011, [6] Esmail was nominated for Best Ensemble at the 2012 Black Reel Awards along with the rest of the cast, but lost to The Help . [7] [8]

In 2012 he went on to star in films Payback Season and Strippers vs Werewolves . [9] [10] [11] He also had roles in television shows Casualty and Switch . [12] Popcorn n Roses named him number 2, behind Lucas Cruikshank, on their list of rising stars of 2012. [13] He starred alongside Steve Coogan in Northern Soul. [14] In 2013 he starred in the music video Infinity by Infinity Ink.[ citation needed ] He featured in a 2015 collection campaign for Saint Laurent. [15] In 2018, he signed on to voice the character Scalpel in the animated dark fantasy film Dagon: Troll World Chronicles which was released in 2019.

Shtar is an Israeli Jewish rap rock band based in Beit Shemesh. Formed in 2006 by American rapper Ori Murray and English guitarist/songwriter Brad Rubinstein, the band released their debut album, Infinity, in Israel in 2010 and in the United States through Shemspeed Records in 2012.
