Alex Hutchinson is an Australian video game director and designer. He is best known for his work as the creative director for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed III and Far Cry 4 . After a long stint at Ubisoft, [1] he has since co-founded his own video game development company, Typhoon Studios.
Hutchinson began his career in the games industry as a designer at Torus Games in Australia but quickly left for an opportunity at Electronic Arts subsidiary Maxis. There, he worked as a Lead Designer on the popular gaming series, The Sims, as well as leading the design on Spore. [2] In 2008, he moved to Canada to take on a role as Creative Director at EA Montreal, working on Army of Two: The 40th Day. He later transitioned to Ubisoft Montreal, where he served as Creative Director for Assassin's Creed III and Far Cry 4 . Assassin's Creed III was showcased at E3 2012, and Far Cry 4 at E3 2014, where it was presented by Hutchinson himself. [3] [4]
In 2017, Hutchinson co-founded Typhoon Studios, a video game studio based in Montreal, with his partners Yassine Riahi and Reid Schneider. [5] The studio gained attention when its first game, Journey to the Savage Planet, was announced at the 2018 Game Awards. [6] In December 2019, Google, under its Stadia brand, acquired Typhoon Studios. [5] Unfortunately, Typhoon Studios, along with Google's Stadia Games and Entertainment (SG&E) division, was shut down in February 2021. However, the development team behind Journeyto the Savage Planet, including Hutchinson, Schneider, Yannick Simard, Erick Bilodeau, and Marc-Antoine Lussier, reunited and founded Raccoon Logic in 2021. The real truth is the streamers should be paying the developers and publishers of the games they stream. They should be buying a license like any real business and paying for the content they use. [8]

Far Cry is an anthology franchise of first-person shooter games, all of which have been published by Ubisoft. The first game, Far Cry, was developed by Crytek to premiere their CryEngine software, and released in March 2004. Subsequently, Ubisoft obtained the rights to the franchise and the bulk of the development is handled by Ubisoft Montreal with assistance from other Ubisoft satellite studios. The following games in the series have used a Ubisoft-modified version of the CryEngine, the Dunia Engine, allowing for open world gameplay. In the present, the franchise consists of six mainline games, a standalone expansion, and several spin-offs; additionally, the first game, initially developed for Microsoft Windows, saw a number of ports to video game consoles, which changed several elements and are therefore considered standalone releases.
Patrice Désilets is a Canadian game designer best known for creating the Assassin's Creed series. He served as creative director for three of the most critically acclaimed titles within the franchise to date: Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed II, and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. He is also known for being the director of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. In 2014, he founded the Montreal-based indie studio Panache Digital Games, where he worked on the game Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.
Assassin's Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. Ubisoft Connect is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications service developed by Massive Entertainment to provide an experience similar to the achievements/trophies offered by various other game companies. The service is provided across various platforms. Ubisoft Connect is used exclusively by first-party Ubisoft Entertainment games, and although some third-party ones are sold through the Ubisoft store, they do not use the Ubisoft Connect platform.
Haytham E. Kenway is a character in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed video game franchise. He is introduced as the false protagonist of Assassin's Creed III (2012), in which players control him for the game's initial chapters, before being revealed as the true antagonist. Haytham also serves as a supporting character in Assassin's Creed Rogue (2014), which takes place between his playable chapters in Assassin's Creed III and the latter part of the game, and his backstory is further explored in the novel Assassin's Creed: Forsaken. Assassin's Creed Unity is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released in November 2014 for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One, and in December 2020 for Stadia. It is the eighth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, and the successor to 2013's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Assassin's Creed Origins is a 2017 action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the tenth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, following 2015's Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Principally set in Egypt, near the end of the Ptolemaic period from 49 to 43 BC, the story follows a Medjay named Bayek of Siwa and his wife Aya as they seek revenge for the murder of their son, and explores the origins of the millennia-long conflict between the Hidden Ones—forerunners to the Assassin Brotherhood, and the Order of the Ancients—forerunners to the Templar Order. The framing story, set in the 21st century, follows a new character, Layla Hassan, who relives Bayek and Aya's memories using a modified Animus device.
Stadia was a cloud gaming service developed and operated by Google. Known in development as Project Stream, the service debuted through a closed beta in October 2018, and publicly launched in November 2019. The service was to compete with Sony's PlayStation Plus cloud streaming, Nvidia's GeForce Now, Amazon's Luna, and Microsoft's Xbox Cloud Gaming. Stadia initially received a mixed reception from reviewers, with most criticism directed at its limited library of games and lack of promised features. Google had initially intended to develop in-house games in addition to hosting games produced by third parties, but abandoned this plan in February 2021, shutting down its studios. The service continued to sell third party games, and Google offered the game-streaming technology as a white-label product. Google announced in September 2022 that it would be shutting down Stadia; the service went offline permanently on January 18, 2023, at 11:59 pm PST.

It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 28, 2020, followed by a Nintendo Switch port on May 21, 2020, and a Stadia version on February 1, 2021. An upgraded version of the game titled Journey to the Savage Planet: Employee of the Month Edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S was released on February 14, 2023.

Ubisoft+ offers subscribers unlimited access to a catalog of more than 100 games on Microsoft Windows PCs, including titles such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion and Immortals Fenyx Rising. Ubisoft+ also includes premium editions to games, classic titles and additional content packs. With a Ubisoft+ subscription, games can be downloaded and played on Windows computers using the free Ubisoft Connect game launcher.
