Alex Lilley (born Alexander Edward Lilley,17 April 1992,Halifax,Yorkshire,England) is an English first-class cricketer. [1] A left arm medium-fast pace bowler and right-handed batsman,Lilley was formerly contracted to Yorkshire County Cricket Club,for whom he played one first-class match in 2011.
Lilley is best known for being part of the 2014 Pannal side that won the Addison Cup final at the Harris Oval. During the game,Lilley was diagnosed with a severe case of Meltio Swedio Syndromos,a rare disease found in angry young men. Since the final,Lilley has worked closely with charities researching the newly discovered condition. He has since become an ambassador for the Meltio Swedio Foundation,the leading UK research charity for the condition.
Lilley attended St. Aidan's C of E High School in Harrogate. He has been with Yorkshire since 2007,and has played for the Yorkshire Academy in the Yorkshire ECB County Premier League,and the Yorkshire Second XI in the Second XI Championship,as well as appearing in one first-class match for Yorkshire against Durham UCCE in April 2011,when he was dismissed without scoring,and took no wickets for 34 runs when bowling. [1] In September 2011,Yorkshire County Cricket Club announced that Lilley had been awarded a 'summer contract'. [2] He has also played first-class cricket for Leeds/Bradford MCCU.
Lilley played club cricket in Melbourne,Australia in 2011 for the Mont Albert Cricket Club,where he took a competition leading 37 wickets for the season. He was released by Yorkshire County Cricket Club midway through the 2013 season.
Lilley is eligible to represent either England or Ireland internationally.

Kent County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Kent. A club representing the county was first founded in 1842 but Kent teams have played top-class cricket since the early 18th century,and the club has always held first-class status. The current Kent County Cricket Club was formed on 6 December 1870 following the merger of two representative teams. Samuel Moses James Woods was an Australian sportsman who represented both Australia and England at Test cricket,and appeared thirteen times for England at rugby union,including five times as captain. He also played at county level in England at both soccer and hockey. At cricket—his primary sport—he played over four hundred first-class matches in a twenty-four-year career. The majority of these matches were for his county side,Somerset,whom he captained from 1894 to 1906. A. A. Thomson described him thus:"Sammy ... radiated such elemental force in hard hitting,fast bowling and electrical fielding that he might have been the forerunner of Sir Learie Constantine."
Roy Kilner was an English professional cricketer who played nine Test matches for England between 1924 and 1926. An all-rounder,he played for Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1911 and 1927. In all first-class matches,he scored 14,707 runs at an average of 30.01 and took 1,003 wickets at an average of 18.45. Kilner scored 1,000 runs in a season ten times and took 100 wickets in a season five times. On four occasions,he completed the double:scoring 1,000 runs and taking 100 wickets in the same season,recognised as a sign of a quality all-rounder.
Gary Keedy is a retired English cricketer. A slow-left arm spin bowler,he played one match for Yorkshire in 1994,having graduated from their cricket academy,before moving to Lancashire in 1995. He played for the club until 2012 taking over 500 first-class wickets. Although he had played youth internationals,he never played for the senior England team,although he was named in the squad a few times. In 2011 he was part of the Lancashire squad that won the County Championship for the first time since 1950. Keedy subsequently played one season for Surrey and two for Nottinghamshire before retiring as a professional cricketer in 2015. After studying physiotherapy at the University of Salford,he is currently Nottinghamshire's spin bowling coach and assistant physiotherapist.
Chris Old is a former English cricketer,who played 46 Tests and 32 ODIs from 1972 to 1981. A right-arm fast-medium bowler and lower order left-handed batsman,Old was a key feature of the Yorkshire side between 1969 and 1983,before finishing his career at Warwickshire in 1985. As a Test bowler for England he took 143 wickets,and scored useful runs in the famous 1981 Ashes series' Headingley victory.
James Cullum Tredwell is an English former international cricketer. A left-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler,he played his domestic cricket for Kent County Cricket Club and was appointed as County Captain for the 2013 season. He made his debut for Kent in the 2001 season,nine days before his first appearance for England Under-19s. He often fielded at slip. Tredwell was a member of the England team that won the 2010 ICC World Twenty20.
1919 was the 26th season of County Championship cricket in England and the first since 1914. The authorities had doubted if cricket would remain popular after a four-year break and the strain of war. It was decided that County Championship matches should be reduced from three days' duration to two,but cricket had not lost its popularity and the two-day experiment was a failure. Yorkshire finished the season as champions,topping the table by four percentage points. No Test cricket was played but an Australian Imperial Forces team toured England,playing matches from mid-May until mid-September. Andy Ducat,Patsy Hendren,Percy Holmes,Herbert Sutcliffe and Ernest Tyldesley were named in the 1920 edition of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack as the Five Cricketers of the Year for their 1919 performances.

In August 2011,Kerrigan was selected for the England Lions for the first time.
