Alex Neri (born in Sarzana, Italy, on June 16, 1970) is an Italian DJ, producer and songwriter.
A founding member of Planet Funk, having formed the band in the late 90s, Alex Neri also pursued a solo career and established an independent record label named Tenax Recordings. [1]
He started his career playing at the Alhambra, a nightclub in Sarzana owned by his father. Neri began his studio activity collaborating with Marco Baroni [2] and working on different productions such as the Korda project ('Move Your Body' [3] ) and Kamasutra ('Storm In My Soul' [4] ), all while releasing remixed productions for artists such as Club Freaks, [5] Annette Taylor, [6] Future Force, [7] Instant Funk [8] and Jestofunk. [9]
In 1998 Neri and Baroni launched their first single 'Happiness' [10] featuring Jocelyn Brown, which reached 5th place on dance charts in the US and 45th place in the UK. [11] At the same time, Alex Neri met and started collaborating with Gigi Canu and Sergio della Monica, which led to the establishment of Planet Funk. [12]

Planet Funk is an Italian electronic band. The group is composed Marco Baroni, Domenico "GG" Calipari, Alex Neri, Dan Black and formerly Sergio Della Monica who died in February 2018. Other than that Alex owns a Pizzeria in Berlin (Futura) and has been the musical Director of the Voice of Italy since 2019.
"You Don't Know" is a song by Smoove & Turrell, released both as a CD and 12 inch single, including remixes by Kraak & Smaak as well as Featurecast, on Jalapeño Records in 2009. It was also released as a track on the Smoove & Turrell 2009 album Antique Soul, as well as on the compilation album, Wavemusic: Soul Ya 3. "You Don't Know" was written by Jonathan Scott Watson, John Turrell, Lynsey de Paul and Barry Blue, and sampled the track "Water" from de Paul's debut album, Surprise.
