Alex Pierson (born October 17, 1971 [1] in Hamilton, Ontario) is a Canadian broadcaster.
She began working in television in 1995 at CHCH-TV in Hamilton, and later became an employee of CKAL-TV in Calgary. A few years later she returned and began working at CKVR-TV in Barrie, followed by her joining CITY-TV in Toronto.
For a few years she was the co-anchor of Toronto's 11 p.m. CityNews with Mark Dailey, as well as a reporter for CityNews at Six and cp24. She left Citytv in September 2006. After a hiatus from television news, she returned and joined CIII-TV as a reporter. After 4 years reporting on courts and crime and anchoring the weekend news, Pierson left to take an anchor position with Sun News Network.
In 2011, the Sun News Network announced Pierson would be co-host of The Roundtable, the network's morning show, along with Pat Bolland and Andrea Slobodian. [2] [3] and subsequently hosted AM Agenda and was host of Straight Talk until Sun News Network closed in early 2015. [4]
Pierson currently works as a radio personality on Global News Radio 640 Toronto as host of her own evening talk radio show, "ON Point with Alex Pierson" which is also syndicated for broadcast on Global News Radio 980 CFPL in London, Ontario & Global News Radio 900 CHML in Hamilton, Ontario.

Breakfast Television is a Canadian morning television program that is broadcast on Rogers Media's television network Citytv. As of 2023, BT only broadcast from Toronto as a four-hour morning show, while a national edition aired in 8:30-10 a.m. local time on all Citytv stations. Versions were formerly broadcast in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Montreal, but have been canceled and replaced with alternative programming. The version broadcast by the Atlantic Satellite Network continued to use the brand under license from Rogers until 2011, when it was re-launched as CTV Morning Live upon the service's rebranding as CTV 2 Atlantic.
CityNews is the title of news and current affairs programming on Rogers Sports & Media's Citytv network in Canada. The newscast division was founded on September 28, 1975 as CityPulse as a standalone local newscast on the network's Toronto and Vancouver stations owned by CHUM Limited. Through the acquisitions of the Edmonton, Winnipeg and Calgary A-Channel stations in 2004, it was relaunched under the CityNews brand on August 2, 2005 and later expanded to Montreal in 2012. The remaining Citytv stations airs the news headlines segments during each station's Breakfast Television morning show.

It operated under a Category 2 licence granted by the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in November 2010, after the network aborted a highly publicized attempt for a Category 1 licence that would have given it mandatory access on digital cable and satellite providers across Canada.
