Pinellas County is a county located on the west central coast of the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2020 census, the population was 959,107, making it the seventh-most populous county in the state. It is also the most densely populated county in Florida, with 3,491 residents per square mile. The county is part of the Tampa–St. Petersburg–Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. Clearwater is the county seat. St. Petersburg is the largest city in the county, as well as the largest city in Florida that is not a county seat.

This area is mostly residential but does contain some retail, dining, parks and city landmarks. It also has been featured in the "Great Homes and Destinations" section of the New York Times.

It contains 1000 historic buildings. Recently, it merged with several other neighborhoods - including S. Crescent and Uptown to become the Historic Uptown Neighborhood.

It was built in 1927 in the classical Commercial style influenced by the Beaux-Arts movement. The building operated as a "five and-dime" store from 1927 until the company closed it c.1981.

Originally located at 444 5th Avenue South, it was subsequently purchased by the University of South Florida and moved to 511 Second Street South, on the Bayboro campus. The Arcade Hotel is a historic hotel in Tarpon Springs, Florida, United States. It is located at 210 South Pinellas Avenue. On January 12, 1984, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Several guests had stayed there throughout the 1930s and committed suicide in the hotel after Black Tuesday, the beginning of the Great Depression. The building now houses several shop. It is located on alt. 19 in Tarpon Springs Florida, near the historic downtown.

Francis J. Kennard was a prolific architect of many prominent buildings in Tampa, Florida. The public buildings he designed are often in the Neoclassical style. His work includes Hillsborough High School, St. Andrews Episcopal Church, and the Belleview-Biltmore Hotel. Kennard employed the French Renaissance Revival style in his design for el Centro Español de Tampa as well as influences from Moorish Revival and Spanish Mediterranean Revival.
