Beaux-Arts architecture was the academic architectural style taught at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, particularly from the 1830s to the end of the 19th century. It drew upon the principles of French neoclassicism, but also incorporated Renaissance and Baroque elements, and used modern materials, such as iron and glass, and later, steel. It was an important style and enormous influence in Europe and the Americas through the end of the 19th century, and into the 20th, particularly for institutional and public buildings.

The Akademie Schloss Solitude is a foundation under public law. As an international Artist-in-Residence program, Akademie Schloss Solitude has supported approximately 1,400 young artists from more than 120 countries since opening its doors in 1990. KPMB is a Canadian architecture firm founded by Bruce Kuwabara, Thomas Payne, Marianne McKenna, and Shirley Blumberg, in 1987. It is headquartered in Toronto, where the majority of their work is found. Aside from designing buildings, the firm also works in interior design. KPMB Architects was officially renamed from Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects to KPMB Architects on February 12, 2013.

FASTWÜRMS is a Canadian artist collective based in Toronto and Creemore. Founded in 1979, FASTWÜRMS originally had three members: Kim Kozzi, born Kim Kozolanka in Ottawa, Ontario, 1955, Dai Skuse born David Skuse in Oldham, England, 1955, and Napo B. born Napoleon Brousseau in Ottawa, Ontario, 1950. The collective was employed as security guards at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa prior to moving to Toronto in 1980. In the mid-1980s, Napo B. moved to NYC and formally left the collective in 1991. Kozzi and Skuse have continued to work in Toronto as FASTWÜRMS.
Jeanne Randolph is a cultural critic, author, performance artist and psychiatrist whose work explores the relationship between art and psychoanalytic theory. She was the first writer in Canada to develop Object Relations psychoanalytic theory as a medium for cultural criticism. She introduced "ficto-criticism" In 1983 as an unprecedented method for exploring the relationship between writing and an artist's work. In universities and galleries across Canada, England, Australia and Spain she has spoken on topics ranging from the aesthetics of Barbie dolls to the philosophy of Wittgenstein.
