The Colombian Liberal Party is a centre to centre-left political party in Colombia. It was founded as a classical liberal party but later developed a more social-democratic tradition, joining the Socialist International in 1999.

The Independent Movement of Absolute Renovation is a political party in Colombia, founded on March 21, 2000 by 51,095 Colombians led by lawyer and former senator Carlos Alberto Baena and Alexandra Moreno Piraquive. The party also has functions as a non-profit organization. It has representation in the Chamber of Representatives and in the Senate of the Congress of Colombia, and has also participated in the public corporations of Colombia at a regional level, being stated as the eighth-most influential political force in the country.
Samuel Gustavo Moreno Rojas was a Colombian lawyer and politician, son of former congressman Samuel Moreno Díaz and former presidential candidate María Eugenia Rojas Correa, grandson of former Colombian political-military authoritarian leader and ex-president Gustavo Rojas Pinilla. His brother Iván Moreno Rojas is a former Mayor of Bucaramanga, minister and senator. On 28 October 2007, Moreno Rojas was elected Mayor of Bogotá representing the Alternative Democratic Pole (PDA) for the 2008–2012 term. On 3 May 2011, Moreno was suspended and stripped of his office by the Office of the Inspector General for improprieties in the appropriation of city contracts. For the same accusations, the Office of the Attorney General of Colombia argued for a pretrial detention, and Moreno was arrested on 23 September 2011. He was sentenced in 2016 to 18 years of prison for his direct involvement in a corruption scheme during his term.
Armando Alberto Benedetti Villaneda is a Colombian politician. He served as Senator of Colombia from 2006 to 2022 and Member of the Chamber of Representatives of Colombia from 2002 to 2006.
María Luisa Piraquive, Maria Luisa Piraquive Corredor, is a Colombian educator with a bachelor's degree in Hispanic Philology and a Doctorate in International Law. She is a singer, philanthropist, and leader of a Christian church with a world-wide presence that she co-founded, the Church of God Ministry of Jesus Christ International. Additionally, she is founder and president of a not-for-profit organization, Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation, which offers a broad range of social assistance services, and pioneer of the Colombian political party, MIRA.
Colombia held elections to both chambers of Congress on 14 March 2010. The nationwide constituency for the 102-member Senate was contested by 16 lists, comprising 948 candidates. There are 33 regional constituencies for the Chamber of Representatives, plus a few other ethnic minority constituencies. In all, 282 lists, with 1,533 candidates, contested the 165 seats in the Chamber. Almost 30 million people were registered to vote.
Carlos Alberto Baena López is a Colombian lawyer and politician, who serves, since 2020, as Vice Minister for Participation and Equality of Rights of the Ministry of the Interior of Colombia. He served as Senator of Colombia from 2010 to 2014. Baena is a co-founder of the Independent Movement of Absolute Renovation (MIRA) and has served two terms as Party Chairman. Before ascending to Congress, Baena served as Councillor of the Bogotá City Council from 2001 to 2009.
María Isabel Mejía Marulanda is a retired Colombian politician and economist. She served in Congress first as Representative for her home department of Risaralda from 1986 to 2002, and then as Senator from 2002 to 2006, and again in 2008 to 2010 in. A longtime Liberal party politician, she left the party in 2005 to form the Social Party of National Unity, a national political party formed by members of both mainstream parties in support of then President Álvaro Uribe Vélez.

Díaz was temporary Senator in replacement of Senator Alexandra Moreno Piraquive in 2004.
Ana Paola Agudelo García is a Colombian economist and politician member of the MIRA Party. She was elected to the Congress of Colombia as Representative of the Colombian expatriates for the 2014–2018 term with 4663 votes. In 2018 she was elected Senator with over 70,000 votes.

In 2011 he ran for Mayor of Bogotá, D.C. as candidate of the Mira party. In 2014 he was elected to the Congress of Colombia as Representative of Bogotá for the 2014-2017 term. In 2018 he was elected Senator with over 66,000 votes. In this year he was also appointed Party Chairman in replacement of Carlos Alberto Baena.

Adriana Salvatierra Arriaza is a Bolivian political scientist and politician who served as president of the Senate in 2019. A member of the Movement for Socialism, she served as senator for Santa Cruz from 2015 to 2020 and was a substitute senator for Santa Cruz under Carlos Romero in 2015. At age twenty-nine, Salvatierra was the youngest legislator and third woman to hold the presidency of the Senate and was the youngest individual to ever exert presidential authority, albeit briefly in an acting capacity.
