Alexandra Simons de Ridder (born 29 October 1963) is a German equestrian and Olympic champion. She won a gold medal in team dressage at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney with the team from Germany. [1]

Bridget Parker is an English equestrian and Olympic champion for Great Britain. She won a team gold medal in eventing at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, and finished tenth in individual eventing. Parker rode a horse named Cornish Gold at the 1972 Olympic Games. The British team gold medal was later called one of the "30 greatest sporting achievements of all time" by Times magazine.
The Sydney International Equestrian Centre is the facility which was used to host equestrian events during the 2000 Summer Olympics and 2000 Summer Paralympics. The centre is located 45 kilometres from Sydney's business district and the harbour at Saxony Road, Horsley Park. Construction began in 1997, was finished in 1999 and it successfully hosted Olympic and Paralympic equestrian events in 2000.
Susan M. "Sue" Blinks is an American dressage rider and trainer. She was best known for riding her Olympic Grand Prix mount Flim Flam. Having represented the United States in an Olympics and two World Equestrian Games, she helped the US Team earn an Olympic Bronze Medal in Sydney, Australia and competed in the 1998 and 2002 World Equestrian Games.
The team eventing event, part of the equestrian program at the 2000 Summer Olympics was held from 16 to 19 September 2000. The competition was held in the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. In 2000, as in 1996, the team event was a separate event from the individual competition which was held from the 20–22 September. A rider could compete in both competitions. This would be the final time to date, that this format of two separate events has been used. Like all other equestrian events, the eventing competition was mixed gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. Twelve teams, each consisting of between three and four horse and rider pairs, entered the contest.

The results of the first round of the individual dressage were used to award rankings. Like all other equestrian events, the dressage competition was mixed gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. Nine teams, each consisting of four horse and rider pairs, entered the contest.
The individual show jumping event, part of the equestrian program at the 2000 Summer Olympics, was held from 25 September to 1 October 2000 at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre 45 miles outside of Sydney, Australia. Like all other equestrian events, the jumping competition was mixed gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. There were 74 competitors from 28 nations. Each nation could have up to 4 riders. The event resulted in a three-way tie for first and a medal jump-off. Dutch riders Jeroen Dubbeldam and Albert Voorn finished first and second in that jump-off, earning the Netherlands' first gold medal and second silver medal in individual jumping. Khaled Al Eid earned Saudi Arabia's first medal in the event with his bronze, finishing third in the jump-off.
Guenter Seidel is an American equestrian. He was born in Bavaria, Germany, but represents the United States after moving to the country in 1985. He won a bronze medal in team dressage at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, together with Robert Dover, Michelle Gibson and Steffen Peters. He also won bronze medals in team dressage at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, and at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He is openly gay.

Kristy Oatley-Nist is an Australian equestrian. She represented Australia at the 2000, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics in the equestrian discipline of dressage.
