Algemene middelbare school or AMS (Dutch, "general secondary school") was during part of the twentieth century a level of education in the Netherlands (and also the Dutch East Indies [1] [2] and Suriname), comparable with the high school level in the US education system. Its successors were the mavo and vbo, now both replaced by vmbo.

The Sondervick College is a Dutch catholic secondary school located in the village Veldhoven. It provides all three levels of Dutch secondary education: VMBO, HAVO, VWO.

The Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre or NBIC (2003-2013) was a Dutch, government-funded organization, that coordinated all academic work on bioinformatics in the Netherlands. NBIC consisted of programs for research (BioRange), for education (BioWise), and for support (BioAssist). NBIC partners are all Dutch universities and university hospitals, and some commercial entities. Its successors were the mavo and vbo, now both replaced by vmbo. This level of education was used up to 2021 in Suriname, when it was replaced with "voortgezet onderwijs".
